Now booking for summer 2026! Mid-June through August, seven-night stay required (Saturday-Saturday). This beautiful and spacious four-bedroom, three-bath home on a wooded one-acre lot overlooking Lake Michigan is the perfect location for your family’s vacation. New for summer 2026 are stairs to our private beach below! Our peaceful natural bluff-top setting is only minutes from public beaches, shopping, golf, wineries and entertainment. On the bluff, enjoy spectacular views from our home's all-glass sunroom, relax or play yard games on the spacious lawn, make dinner in the airy kitchen or grill on the wraparound deck with the sound of the waves below. On the sandy beach below, use our chairs, beach toys, umbrellas, cooler, and kayaks for days of fun in the sun! The house sleeps 8, perfect for a large family or two smaller ones. You’ll always be comfortable here, with central air (powered by rooftop solar panels), ceiling fans, and lots of screened sliders. The primary bedroom features sliders and a panoramic view of Lake Michigan. The kitchen is well-stocked, with an expansive granite breakfast bar that invites conversation while cooking on the easy glass-top stove/oven. The provided sheets and towels are high-quality. Guests appreciate the "five-star lodging" with "personal touches" throughout. Outside, there's comfortable deck furniture and an outdoor fire pit to enhance the sunset enjoyment. The single-floor living space is ideal for small children and anyone with mobility issues; those who venture down to the basement will find a cozy game area featuring a pool table and dart board alongside the laundry facilities. In addition to private beach access from our high-bluff property, you'll find plenty of nearby public beaches easily accessible by a quick bike or car ride. Closest are Hagar Park (a 3-minute drive, 3.0 miles north on M-63, dog friendly) and Rocky Gap County Park (a 5-minute drive, 3.6 miles south via M-63). You are welcome to take our beach chairs, umbrella, and wheeled cooler along for the day. Also nearby are several wineries, craft breweries, outstanding golf courses (including Jack Nicklaus-designed Harbor Shores), apple picking, and much more! Enjoy the best of southwest Michigan (one of Travel+Leisure's top 50 places to travel), just a short drive from this great location less than 10 minutes north of St. Joseph, and 20 minutes south of South Haven. The house and property were great and easily accommodated our family and friends. Quiet neighbors, house far enough away from road so cars Are not heard. Only down fall is you have to drive to anyplace; to shop, to beach, to exercise, to dine. We purposely did not plan many things to do because we had a toddler and I have mobility issues. This home was so well stocked with paper products and seasonings and kitchen necessities. We brought our own crockpot and had several meals already prepared to enjoy. The home was so beautiful and clean; the hostess was so very helpful for us. The lake view from the gorgeous backyard was amazing! We would definitely return to this VRBO. Thank you, Joan for making our first time visit to Lake Michigan memorable. ##### Dennis A. My husband has a walker and he was able to maneuver around the home with ease and master bedroom has wonderful lake view. There are a few steps on back deck so going to edge of yard was not possible for him. Beaches were very close and Silver Beach has beach wheelchair available. Wonderful blueberry patch was just down the street (and pesticide free). We also loved the sitting/eating area with the lake view. Host was very accommodating and responsive to my many questions as we prepared for the rental. Our family - from NC, ND, and NY picked Benton Harbor as a good meeting point for a family vacation and it was! The house is really lovely - the view is gorgeous! Joan was a fantastic host - she responded very quickly to all inquiries and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a short-term rental that was stocked as well as Sunset Bluff! You will want for almost nothing! Has everything you need to have a great stay. Great location very close to St Joseph and many beaches. Hager beach which is dog and very people friendly is only a couple miles away and for larger beaches there is silver beach which also has a gigantic splash pad for the kids and concessions. Back yard bluff overlooking the the lake is exactly how it is shown. We were there attending a wedding and decided to add a couple of days to our stay. There were 6 adults and the house had everything we needed. Our family stayed for only a weekend to attend a wedding nearby. We couldn’t have had a better experience! It was a busy weekend so we weren’t able to fully indulge in all there was to see and do but absolutely loved the property and the area. The host was so nice and helpful. It was the perfect place to relax with friends on our annual girls Ski and Scrabble weekend. The house was beautiful with plenty of room for us to sleep. The 4 seasons room's large table was perfect for our meals and Scrabble games. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed for cooking. The location was ideal, with a beautiful view of the lake from most rooms. It was close to a Nature Preserve which was great for both skiing and hiking. We hope to return each year! ##### Megan B. It is in a great location, has a beautiful outdoor area and a stunning view of the lake. We watched the sunset every night. We had beautiful weather while we were there and my young kids (2yrs & 4yrs) and my parents. My kids got to be on a beach for the first time and they fell in love. The stairs down were still under construction, but there is a park just down the road and we were able to experience the beach, which was so lovely. Quite a dream. Next time, we would probably pick up more groceries, because there is really no reason to leave this place. It's absolutely perfect. ##### Kara W. The house is filled with light and has beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Plenty of room. Immaculately clean. Mature trees block view of house from the road. Large open kitchen makes it fun to cook and visit. Master bedroom allows for privacy. Cozy living room with large screen TV and full entertainment options. Excellent internet access. St. Joseph 10 minutes away with plenty of restaurants and bars. Especially enjoyed shopping for local art at Chartreuse Co-op Art Gallery and Bound for Freedom fair trade and social justice retail store. Pizza at DiMaggio’s was yummy, located a few minutes north of the house. Bob’s Farm Market and Bakery east on Coloma Road has homemade pies. Sweet gardens around the property and large backyard with outdoor seating. We hope to return many times. ##### Christine G. The home is very clean and has everything you need to help you enjoy your vacation. Well stocked kitchen, beds are all good, with the twin beds being a bit firmer then the others. Bed linens and towels are all good quality. We used the washer/dryer 2 times and they are large capacity and worked well. The home is about 5 miles from St. Joe, which is a very quick and easy drive. We didn't have any problem with parking for shopping, dinner or the beach. Silver Beach in St. Joe was really nice but can be a bit crowded on hot days. Hagar Beach which is north of this home is also very nice and not nearly as crowded. You do have to go up/down lots of stairs but it wasn't a problem for anyone in our group. Joan, the homeowner is very very responsive. We had a hic-cup with the air conditioner and she came over with a service person quickly to try and fix it. It would be nice to be able to go down to the beach here someday but it didn't take away from our experience. We appreciate all the attention they have put into this home and hope to be back someday! The property was exactly as advertised. The house was clean and well kept. Having the open floor plan on one level was nice especially because we had an 18 month toddler in our group. The kitchen and frig were well stocked with basic supplies and condiments. However, if everyone wants a cup of coffee when they awake, you will need to stagger your wake up times because the Mr. Coffee coffee maker was an exceptionally slow drip! We liked having the large quality washer and dryer to use. The twin beds and one other mattress were not as comfortable as ones in the other two rooms. Master bedroom was spacious and has an incredible view. The yard was well maintained and the flowers beautiful. The kids had plenty of space to run and catch lightening bugs in the evenings. Although readily available, we did not use the fire pit because of the warm weather. The grill was quality and big enough to accommodate cooking for 8\. We did miss private access to the beach but understand the need for repairs. Having quality beach towels and chairs made going to nearby beaches easier. Incredible views of sunsets from yard. Joan was very prompt in responding when we contacted her. The lock system made for easy access upon arrival and coming and going. The property was an excellent place for our family to take a break, and have a wonderful Lake Michigan vacation. ##### Margaret M.
