At the same time, we are just a few minutes away from Sunriver, where all of the supplies you may need are easily available. The Mountain View Retreat consists of our 7 Bedroom luxury lodge, sleeping up to 18, plus our bunk house by the river, sleeping up to 6 (BYO bedding/sleeping bags). Visit our luxurious and spacious 5-star riverfront lodge plus rustic bunk house on the water near Sunriver, situated on an idyllic bend of the Deschutes River! The Mountain View Retreat is a beautifully rustic, conveniently modern, large 3600 square foot LODGE on a very private acre on the Deschutes River just 5 miles (10 mins) south of world-famous Sunriver Resort, 25 mins from Bend, and 30 mins from Mount Bachelor snow park. If you are attracted to the spectacular Cascade Mountain region of central Oregon, this is the perfect place to take advantage of all it has to offer. The six bedroom, four bath house sleeps up to 18 and is situated right on the river, overlooking a wildlife-rich peninsula created by a large bend in the Deschutes River. Deer, elk, otter, foxes, chipmunks, eagles, ducks and geese, and many other species of birds are in regular view. Downriver a view of Mount Bachelor, with its world-class ski resort, opens up, along with views of other nearby mountains. If you have a large group, or would just like extra space to hang out inside down by the river, you might like to add our BUNK HOUSE. The Bunk House is located on the riverside of the main house, near the dock, and can sleep up to six. This newly constructed -- and now insulated! -- 12' by 16' cabin has a covered porch and is a great place to hang out, just a few feet from the river, or to "camp out" in comfort most of the year. The Bunk House has two bunk beds, each with a double futon below and a single bed above. It also has a table and chairs, lighting and heat, but no water. LINENS are NOT PROVIDED for the bunk house though, so bring your sleeping bags or bedding if you want to camp out. (Linens are provided for all the regular beds in the house of course.) There is no charge to add the Bunk House for groups of 16 or less. For larger groups, access is covered by the $25 per night per extra guest fee, up to a maximum of 24. We are close enough to Sunriver to enjoy its amenities -- many of which are accessible for full- and half-day rates -- yet just far enough away from all the hustle and bustle that comes with resort living. The main floor of the Mountain View Retreat has over 1200 square feet of connected living area with a living room, dining room with seating for 12 or more, and country kitchen with both an eating and sitting area, close enough to the dining area that everyone can eat together! The dining area opens out onto a log deck that runs the length of the house, overlooking the river, with lounge chairs and two picnic tables. Two of the four upstairs/main level bedrooms open into their own bath. All upstairs rooms except one have river views. Ten can sleep comfortably on this level, plus one or two infants in our collapsible crib and Pack & Play. Bring a sleeping bag and you can sleep one more on the couch in the Master bedroom. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms, a bathroom, and a game room with a pool table and log bunk beds. All rooms have river views. Six can sleep comfortably down here. The hot tub, dock, and deck overhanging the river can all be accessed from the upper deck, or through the game room. Please NOTE: our on-site caretaker lives in a small cottage adjacent to the Main Lodge. This house exceeded all expectations. There were enough beds for everyone, a well stocked kitchen, a large yard for the kids to run on, and a beautiful view to boot. I'm always looking for a home that will accommodate our large group of adults with an adequate number of bedrooms and full beds, not just bunk beds, and this home delivers. The beds were comfy and having AC (not always a given in Sunriver) was a bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and the view amazing. Our favorite spot was the deck on the river. We spent most of our time there enjoying the sun, playing games and gazing at the view. Several in our party enjoyed floating on the river by putting in at a spot up the road and floating down to the house. We hoped there was a better spot to access and enjoy the river from the property, but this wasn't the case. If you are considering this house, I can highly recommend but be aware they are on a septic system and water conservation is an absolute must. ##### Jamie N. We used all seven rooms and still had plenty of extra space to have other family staying in separate rentals visit for breakfast and dinner. The view of the mountain was divine, and it helped us decide whether we would ski on any given day! The fact that we could drive five minutes upriver and float for nearly two hours before washing up on shore was the icing on the cake. We saw woodpeckers, elk, and lots of ducks. Everyone was in love! Kitchen was well-stocked. Hot tub was great. Couldn't ask for more! ##### Lizzy L. We took full advantage of the river and rafted almost every day, but were still close enough to Sunriver Village and Bend to make several outings. This home is incredibly well equipped for cooking and family game nights. It was comfortable and the caretaker was available to help us with any questions that came up. Saw herds of elk up close, lots of goose annd coyotes anbd some beavers. Most of the beds were too hard & uncomfortable, except the 1 Tempur-pedic. Very nice location, nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the area, Bend, Newburg, & Paulina Peak are must sees. The house accommodated us very well. Very nicely decorated interior and situated on the Deschutes River with drop dead views. The grounds were very nice as was the large deck on the river. We had extended family staying in the home and had an absolute blast. The place was perfect. We are definitely wanting to rent it again. The view was breathtaking, the lay out worked great for our group. Having the dock access to the river right there was so convenient- easy to float from Big River to the home, or from the home to Harper Bridge, as a couple of options. Close enough to Bend and Sunriver for the young adults to go have fun and much more relaxed than being in town. Nice to just hang out in a beautiful place! ##### Micki M. The younger folks were able to stay in the lower bedrooms and sleep till noon while the elders were up at dawn drinking coffee & chatting. The kitchen was stocked with more than we had hoped (or experienced with other rentals). It was too cold to enjoy the river but i do hope to come back in the summer! Our group had such a blast staying here. We had 11 adults and 6 kiddos ranging from infant-5 years. The space worked wonderfully and the view to the river was spectacular. Quick drive into Sunriver (about 10 minutes) and only 20 minutes to Bend. One of the best homes for a large gathering we have been to.
