This hotel has amazing views, exceptionally friendly staff and good amenities. We stayed for 5 days, but we will try another place if we revisit the area. The main issue with this hotel is that it’s older in construction and the floors and doors are extremely loud, and the walls are thin. The room was plenty comfortable, but nights were not restful because we heard toilets flushing and allll the neighbors moving around at all hours. We did love the private balcony for enjoying the views. Town isn’t too far from the hotel, but requires a drive. Luckily the hotel has a bar with food and a fancy restaurant. The views from the restaurant are the best in town, but the food was only OK. The pool is nice, but the spa was very underwhelming. The rate we paid was reasonable but expect extra charges for pool towels, and food and drinks to be on the spendy side.

Overall, the hotel estate and rooms are good: great location, nice view, and complete facilities. However, the hotel staff and services level is VERY WELL BELOW 4 stars hotel standards. Please read details of highlighted experience during our stay Arrival day At point of arrival - we are not even sure when we arrived that we are the the front desk. There are not one help with luggage and the counter of reception is so high that I cannot even notice the front person. At a check-in - we tried to ask for information about how to get to ski lift and maps. The hotel has no town map and not clear answer on where to go for ski: how to park, how to get rental equipment, etc. 2nd day Breakfast - staff are very helpful and nice, but everything seem very rush. Not sure we can improve with more number of Staff during peak hours Came back to the room - we arrived back at the room, but the room has not clean up. The staff just make a bed and do nothing else. Spa services - the hotel has sauna, stream, and hot tub services. Very nice idea after a long ski day. Therefore, we have booked the slot on 3rd Jan at 6pm. We went to ski, leave the slope around 5, and back to hotel a little later than we expected (6.20). We rush to make to our appointment and spa staff called us. Not speaking English very well, I only catch one sentence , “there is a problem”. I said, “I will go down to the spa to talk to you”. I went down, and staff tried to explain in very bad tone. Lovely hotel in a fantastic spot above Vielha but only 2mins from the town centre. Excellent restaurant with really nice food and great staff.

Hotel is in good condition, however service did not meet expectations. Also, staff almost doesn't manage to communicate in English and was not very friendly as well. Also breakfast was not at the expected level to such hotel

We had a superior room. The best feature of the hotel is the view. The dining room is very nice and features Aran valley cuisine, which is delicious. The hotel is outside the town and a little close to the road that leads to a tunnel through the mountains. Great offsite parking. Nice pool. Perfect entry point to the Pyrenees.

Fine but could have been much nicer
This was a short getaway to enjoy some hiking in a region new to us. Since this is mainly a ski area, we hope more attention is paid to non-ski sports in this beautiful area. Helpful if hotels like this takes some pride of place initiative to point out where trails begin. Fortunately, online apps compensate for this deficit. Overall the hotel is fine for a chain, but we encountered small hassles with all the "extra" facility charges when offering it free would have won greater loyalty and return visits. For example, a dreary gym was free but the pool, sauna, jacuzzi all advertised as part of the property come with a day charge. Maintenance issues had been overlooked during lock down (peeling wall paper, dusty hallways, etc). On the positive side, the hotel placed great emphasis on Covid hygiene. Breakfast flow was regimented by time specific seating, individual tongs apportioned servings and plentiful hand sanitizer. Staff consciously continue to wear masks. On the negative side, being charged for bread that was offered as if complementary seemed like a sleazy way to mark up the bill. Just explain it to your patrons and let them make the choice for heaven's sake. Room could use more electric outlets. Despite some ageing joinery (closets don't close smoothly, floors creak) the bed was comfortable, room temperature easily adjusted, refrigerator, room safe and balcony all nice features. A coffee maker would have been awesome.

Fantastic views
We stayed one night in this Parador which are four-star government run Spanish hotels. This one had fantastic panoramic views from the hotel, especially in the dining restaurant. It even has an outdoor pool which was lovely. I would definitely recommend staying here

Super disappointed with room, which was a big downgrade from what was confirmed, an paid for. No help from Hotel.com "Gold" help line, 1.5 hour wait when I called from Spain. The Parador was no help, without respect for their advertised, and confirmed (paid in advance) reservation. They would, however, sell it to me for a substantial upcharge. So disappointing to get this treatment, as I depend on Hotel.com for my lodging needs. Gold status geot me nothing, except a substantial downgrade.The parador should correct their listing, and honor what they sold online. I find their business practice in acceptable and won't be back. Big demerits to you both.

Hotel a little tired in places, could do with som refurbishment. Stayed in a suite and the bed was rock hard and the wooden walls rotting where they meet the floor in the bathrooms. Left a slight moldy smell.

Beautiful place to stay
A beautiful and stately hotel with incredible views. We stayed in a Junior Suite that was very spacious with a large balcony. It was well decorated and the bed was comfortable. My only disappointment was the distance to town. You definitely need a car.

Big, cold, impersonal corporate hotel
If you are looking for a charming hotel, go elsewhere. This is a big corporate hotel with an unhelpful although friendly staff. The WIFI did not work, but they could care less. They had no recommendations for dining, activities and seemed to be on auto-pilot. The location is outside of town on a hill overlooking the town, with the strangest entrance I've ever encountered - not a big deal unless you are driving at night. Anyway, you get the picture.

Great Views
This hotel is very conveniently located close to the road and so easy to find. However, it is a busy road and there is no footpath into the town, which is a walk away, so you are confined to the hotel really. Having said that, the hotel is lovely, We didn't eat in the restaurant as the food was too fancy for our tastes. We did get a very decent sandwich from the bar though. Breakfast was outstanding, with a vast choice of foods and drinks. The room was clean and comfortable but was on the road side of the hotel so we could hear the lorries trundling past - but it didn't spoil the stay. We arrived on a motorbike and there was a open garage that we were able to park the bike in which was a bonus.

One of the best paradors
This parador exceeded our expectations. Our room was very comfortable with a good sized balcony and a wonderful view. The restaurant was excellent and the spa (although payable) was delightful. Only downside was the volume of lorries on the route through to France which made any thoughts of walking into Vielha a non-starter.

Check in was strange. The girl in reception didn't seem to know where the bathroom was, and check-in took quite a long time. Our room was fine, comfortable and clean. The place seemed empty. We were one of two tables in the huge dining area, but the food and service were quite fine. Nice hotel, just kind of eerie. Lovely spa, of which we did not partake.

A lot of potential but...
The location is good with a nice view.The rooms (a junior suite)very good and spacious but something is missing.. The building has a somewhat forbidding countenance and you feel a little lost in this huge building and not much staff around... Breakfast is a huge buffet ,so everybody can find some things according to your taste... You definitely need your own transportation because the hotel is 5 minutes op the hill from town.

Really disappointing unfortunately. It looked fantastic on the website. We had booked a "room with a patio with a courtyard view" - this translates apparently to a room with a window looking onto the carpark - and no patio. The outdoor swimming pool was empty and to use the indoor pool was 45 euros per person! The hotel would have been grande at some point but is now tired. Its location is also not great as it sits within a hairpin of the main road between Spain and France with constant trucks circling the hotel and no way of walking down to the township. The staff were friendly but for the price it was pretty poor.

Highly praised, I found the place disappointing. The hotel is 2km from the town, yet they show it .6 km in aereal distance. The price charged for breakfast was a shame, compared with other hotel or restaurant. We got a back room whole there were very few people at the place and many empty tooms with a view and balcony.

As expected of Parador hotels - great rooms, comfortable beds, super bathrooms. Did not eat in the hotel as prices were very high and 15 euros for breakfast is extortionate especially if you only want continental breakfast

This is a place where you want to be when driving from Lleida takes five hours due to fresh snow and blocked roads, and you are sick and tired. The lady in the front desk did not speak English, but organised my night flawlessly, including getting me a warm garage. There was a good, locally focussed three course dinner. The room was probably quiter than otherwise because of the lack of traffic, but it was clean, well equipped (power outlets next to each bedside, extra plus) and comfortable. Next morning the tractor driver was upset because I asked him to clean out the garage exit while he was doing something else, but he went and did it. What else can you ask for?

Views to die for!
This Parador is 2km outside the town of Viehla. The views from the hotel are absolutely fantastic. The pool is lovely. They have a wonderful lounge area with large windows so you get the most of the views. The dining room also overlooks the pool & views so make sure you use it before it gets dark. We did not eat in the dining room but had a snack in the bar, it was ok but a little expensive. We had a standard room which was well decorated for the size. We overlooked the car-park, you have to pay a 25 euro supplement if you want a larger room which overlooks the pool side. Overall we were very happy with our smaller room & stayed two nights. It is the perfect place to tour the pyrenes from.
