Péssima experiência
Caros, conheço o Bourbon há muito (desde que era Quality, na verdade). Gosto muito do hotel, mas infelizmente neste último sábado tive uma péssima, péssima experiência. Inicialmente, no check in, houve uma certa demora excessiva, pois um casal que estava à frente, ao que tudo indica, havia reservado um quarto para não fumantes, mas ao chegarem, só havia quarto para fumantes. O atendente da recepção tentou, mas não havia outro quarto disponível. O casal até tentou ir ao quarto e verificar se suportariam o cheiro, mas optaram por embora. Eu também iria, para ser bem sincero. Mas tudo bem quanto a isso, já que a demora foi apenas para tentar solucionar o problema. Se não tivesse problema, não teria havido demora. O problema foi que ao finalizarmos o check in, fomos direcionados ao quarto 1409, que para a nossa surpresa, ESTAVA OCUPADO. Minha namorada e eu demos de cara com uma moça, que, claro, não gostou nada do ocorrido. Voltamos à recepção e o atendente já sabia. Pediu desculpas. Nos colocou, então, no quarto 1410. Ao chegarmos, identificamos que era a parte conjugada do 1409. O atendente trancou a porta entre quartos, mas o nosso tinha duas camas de solteiro ao invés de uma de casal. Isso porque eu reservei um QUARTO LUXO e acabei por hospedar num conjugado, já que, segundo o atendente, não havia outra acomodação disponível (de nenhuma categoria). Foi tudo muito frustrante, cansativo e desgastante, além de não ter ficado na acomodação reservada e paga.

I booked this hotel for my brother and his wife. I only reserved the room for 1 guest and when they were checking in, my brother had to pay extra só his wife could stay with him. This is outrageous. I’ve never heard of such a thing.

Suited for business traveler, 15 min to the shopping area. Room and bed are nice and comfortable. Seems to only have a small lobby bar. Breakfast is decent.

Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet, excellent service at the restaurant, big rooms with very comfortable beds, good channels on TV, nice shower, and taxis at the hotel front door (which you can pay for using a credit card, fabulous!). Wish pool were a bit warmer and that they would exchange dollars for reais! Still, will stay again.

Amazing family room !
Family room was really enjoyable. It was very comfort to access each other between rooms. Services were acceptable as expected. Food quality and variation was also better than usual. English signs were available at everywhere so people who don't speak Portuguese like us could feel easier. One thing we found regrettable at the hotel entrance was poor boy standing in front the entrance asking money.

Great option in BH
There is little charm in most hotels in Belo Horizonte - having stayed in many. This hotel is not especially charming, either, but it is wonderfully located and very well maintained and the staff are terrific. There's a nice enough little gym and a lovely pool.

Not what I expected, and not in a good way
Not what is expected from a such a highly rated hotel in a city the size of BH. First, the room had stained & dirty looking carpeting. Second, it smelled musty forcing us to leave the windows open at all times. And the breakfast was average by Brazilian standards. Also, the location was a bit outside the restaurant & bar area but at least there were taxis right outside. We stayed there during the World Cup & there were FIFA staff staying there thus there were police stationed right outside. There also was an info desk staffed by World Cup volunteers which were really helpful. Otherwise the area might be iffy once/if the police are gone as we've noticed working girls & undesirable characters less than a block from the hotel.

Enjoyable stay
When we arrived after midnight, the men on the reception looked disinterested and not so welcoming. Perhaps slightly surprised to see a gringo in BH. The lobby is messy - under reconstruction at present which I'm sure will be nice once complete. They could only find a 1 person booking but I had the email from Hotels.com that showed it was for 2 persons. I had to forward this email this to them but there was no wifi in the lobby and had to wait to get to the room. When we got there, they had put us in a twin room even though the booking was for one king bed. They quickly rectified this, we were moved and had a lovely view of the city from the top floor. All said though, the staff in the following 5 days were much more helpful and had better English. From what I gather this is one of the best hotels in BH and overall to be fair we enjoyed our staff. Wifi in room excellent (~6meg). Gym, sufficient. Good location. Room/bed comfortable. Computer chair particularly nice when using laptop. Recommend hotel installs wifi at reception and breakfast areas.

Hotel is centrally located within Belo Horizonte, the neighborhood looks good in the daytime but in the evening the entire street becomes a brothel with girls on every corner. The hotel smells like mildew on both rooms that we rented the carpets were filthy dirty and smelly. The staff is nice and the breakfast buffet has plenty of choices. Not for families, recommended for road warriors that need a one night stay.

Our family of four (with two pre-teens) stayed here for nearly a week. Hotel facilities were generally clean and safe, but some areas needed maintenance. For example, the handle in our bathroom shower kept falling off, and our room door was hard to close. Nonetheless, the beds were clean and comfortable, and the staff did their best to be responsive to our requests. They were very friendly and helpful, in both English and Portuguese! The all-you-can-eat breakfast in the morning offered much variety, including more than 10 different kinds of breads and fresh fruits. All in all, we would stay here again.

O hotel tem excelente localização. A escolha do hotel para contemplar o espetáculo de fogos da virada de ano foi extraordinária. O quarto é bem espaçoso e confortável. A piscina é aquecida e poderia ser maior. Há academia com os equipamentos necessários, mas sem muito conforto. No atendimento na recepção, tive que retornar para pedir Informações que não foram passadas durante o check-in. O café da manhã é bem saboroso, com opções diversas de pães. No geral, ótima experiência, com bom custo-benefício.
