Heating wasn't working

One night stay. We returned back to the room late evening, the room was cold. Turned on the combined room heater/air con (which strangely was set at 30 degrees when we turned it on). Anyway, the heater only blew out cold air. The room was freezing all night, slept under coas etc. I didn't bring it to the hotels attention at that time, as we were tired and thought the only option would be move rooms or have a tech banging away at it for ages. Mentioned it in the morning when we were told glibly 'we have problems with the heating but can give you a portable heater'. Why were we not told this straight out on checking in? Did they have enough heaters for all rooms? To me that's poor service, I shouldn't have to tell them the heating didn't work, the high service level approach would have been to inform us at check in and offer us heating and or additional duvets, or even a room in another ibis without heating problems. 3 star and third rate service.

Perfect for our stay

Pros: The staff and location was perfect for our stay
Cons: It's no frills and budget, so not a lot could be added without adding to the price
Location: Some good restaurants close by and near Queens University and the Botanic Gardens
Nice hotel, excellent staff. We stayed here because we were attending a wedding at the Queens University. Location was perfect, only 5 minutes walk to the venue and some good restaurants nearby. Staff at the hotel were excellent. When we arrived the gentleman on reception (Thomas?) apologized that our room was not ready, we were 3 hours in advance of check in so this was not a surprise. He took our cases and when we advised we wanted to do the hop on tour bus he offered to take our booking. He promptly called the company to pick us up and shared some information ob the city. He had finished his shift when we returned so we could not offer our thanks, but he was a very good welcoming host. The young ladies who replaced him we also found warm and friendly. The hotel is a typical Ibis, clean, functional, no frills but good value. A good stay.

Pros: Die Lage: Uni, Botanic Gardens.
Cons: Geräusche von der Umluft/Heitungsanlage.
Location: Das Hotel ist am Rande der "Holylands" in südlichem Belfast, nahe der Queen's University und der "Botanic Gardens" - Studenten-Cafés und -Restauranten
Preiswertes Hotel mit allem was man braucht: kein Luxus aber sauber und völlig in Ordnung.

Pros: l'emplacement
Cons: Attention aux cheveux dans la salle de bain
Location: le parc botanique est magnifique on peut voir la ville a pied possibilité de garer facilement une voiture gratuitement avec un peu de patience
Bel hôtel au coeur du quartier étudiant très vivant beaucoup de resto à proximité très bien situé

Does what it says on the tin

Standard Ibis hotel - convenient location and did the job without being spectacular. Room was clean and bed was comfortable There was a really funny smell in the corridor, but it didn't disturb me that much as it didn't permeate the room.

Das Hotel liegt recht zentral und war sehr gut zu erreichen. Das Personal war äußert freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar. Das Zimmer sowie das Bad war sehr gepflegt. Das einzige was ich kritisieren könnte, wäre das Frühstück, das meiner Meinung nach etwas zu teuer für die gebotene Auswahl ist. Alles in allem würde ich das Hotel bedingungslos weiter empfehlen!

Rosa was very knowledgeable & helpful . She went above the call of duty! Gracias Rosa :) . Thomas was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The only item missing from this hotel was a bible . I was very surprised not to have one on site.
