Nice hotel, central location

Posted 26-Jul-2017
Pros: Staff was excellent and the breakfast was very good.
Cons: Make sure the room equipment, air conditioners, are working prior to putting people in the rooms.
Location: Central Belfast, close to lots of restaurants and very easy to access ways to get around from the Ibis.
Had a good stay here, ended up having to change two of our rooms as they were too hot, the staff was very helpful.

Nice place. Comfortable but spare facilities. Didn't feel comfortable walking outside on that street.

Convenient to city centre.

Posted 11-Jul-2017
Pros: Location close to city centre amenities and transport. Modern design rooms.
Cons: Shortage of desk staff means they are not always readily available to answer questions and address issues. Many times the desk staff were not there.
Location: Close to bars and pubs, shopping, parking and museums.
Very difficult to find and park due to construction nearby and road closures to make one way only at present. Quite noisy and congested street area with popular night life goers.

Pleasant hotel near city centre

Posted 30-Jun-2017
Pros: Staff, breakfast, location
Cons: Add a mini-fridge.
Location: Easy walk to city centre, shopping, restaurants; walkable to the Titanic centre.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was a very good deal. The room was clean but rather on the small side. A mini-fridge would have been appreciated.

convenient

Posted 02-Jun-2017
Pros: Pleasant, clean, very convenient
Cons: Bright safety strip on step-down from bath insert. Drains were sluggish in one room and breather tubes for sewer gases needed in the other.
Location: We enjoyed the drop on and off tour and especially liked the Games of Thrones "original tour" of the coastline of northern Ireland. What a treat!
We loved Belfast! Everyone from the taxi driver to the hotel staff to the tour guides and restauranteurs--all were most accommodating, friendly and glad to see tourists! We enjoyed learning about the history of the "troubles" and the cooperative efforts to reconstruct infrastructure and lives. Always felt safe.

Good value at the price

Posted 15-May-2017
Pros: Central location & helpful staff
Cons: A more comfortable chair in each room would be welcome.
Location: Immediate area contains quite a number of betting shops, bars & the types that hang around that type of area. Two blocks away is the central shopping.
This is a good budget hotel located quite centrally.

Budget hotel for a night sleep

Posted 11-May-2017
Pros: Quite comfortable bed.
Cons: NA
Location: NA
Booked IBIS because no other hotels I normally book was available due to the balmoral festival at Belfast. Checked in almost at midnight. The staff was very friendly. Room was a bit awkward. I guess it was designed with special needs people in mind. So had a huge bathroom with no counter, very low basin and low shower head. Beds did not have duvets. Asked for one and got a bedsheet instead. Asked for an ironing board, never got one. Breakfast had a limited spread, but sufficient.

Well-situated, clean hotel with good Wi-Fi

Posted 04-May-2017
Pros: Love the contemporary décor of the Ibis rooms. Also, love the Indian options on the dining menu.
Cons: The restaurant. Seems the problem is with the execution of the menu, as the food at the Glasgow Ibis is supurb.
Location: Belfast's City Hall is very impressive. Both the Black Cab Mural Tour and the Giant's Causeway bus tour were outstanding.
This hotel is conveniently located near city center... walkable from the train station, and an even shorter walk to the main shopping area, Belfast's impressive City Hall, and the location from which tour busses depart. Rooms are compact, stylish, and clean with a good TV and free Wi-Fi. The downstairs bar is lovely and stocks a variety of local and non-local beers. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not a good choice for dinner. Ordered a promising linguine with tantalizing toppings, and was served instead a sad bowl of plain spaghetti with a thin tomato sauce. A veg curry was so inedible, we had to return it to the (apologetic) cook. The chicken curry is a good choice, as was the Caesar salad. The continental breakfast was very nice.

OK if you expect a budget hotel, but very much overpriced for what is promised.
