"Excessive cigarette and cannabis smell all over (not listed as 420 friendly when I booked, watch out). Dirty to the core - just walk around and your feet are black. Insects everywhere including cockroaches. Shower curtains are short, water leaks so can’t use. Kitchen light flickers, so can’t use. Window blinds are broken, so people can see inside. Host never came to help, even though they were informed and said they would. Misleading images - property is old, check Zillow listings and the property (a fully detached house is valued at 62k, tell you a lot about it) - I should’ve checked it but relied on images and VRBO - who has the worst customer service. VRBO is expecting me to show evidence of smell and did absolutely nothing to intervene. It was difficult to even contact the support without making international calls. And did I say the the neighborhood isn’t safe? Too many incidents in and around with cops roaming, stopping and patrolling frequently. Left the property early. (all this for my wedding.. so you can imagine my pain)"

"Anyone booking this unit needs to know a few things: Although it was modernized, it is not a great long term stay option. (12 nights)We had to ask for the check in info 3 times before we got a canned response with the codes. It also had a few requirements (where trash goes).We arrived and used the toilet once and found it backed up, there was no plunger available. We also noted there were three towels, 2 small, 1 large for 2 adults staying 12 nights. We asked for more, no response. Our first trip for supplies included a plunger, toilet paper, wash cloths and towels. A fan to move air into the bedroom and bug spray was on the next trip. There are bugs killed by the dozens every day. Not roaches, but spiders and worms of some kind mostly. There are young children who live above this unit that sound like they are purposely pounding on the floor for hours at a time. The AC unit is in the living room with the one loveseat. The TV has to be on level 50 volume to hear it over the AC.The hot water takes 5-7 minutes of constant running hot only to get to the shower and kitchen sink. The unit is on ground level (never explained in the listing nor answered when asked of the host).The coffee pot was great. (pot or capsule)The refrigerator works well but has no ice maker and no ice trays. (We bought 1 of those too) The bed was adequate but bring your own pillows as they are small. There is no outdoor space for sitting. We will not stay here again. "

"This is a fine house for a stay on the East Side of Detroit. The two bedrooms on the first floor were smaller, but fine. The two bedrooms on the second floor were wonderfully huge! The property was clean and the kitchen worked great for the breakfasts we cooked. I'm sure it would work well for even dinner.All in all good place."
