You get what you pay for

I think when reviewing this hotel it's important to remember it is a budget hotel. Room was a little depressing and tatty but we were only staying 1 night before taking a flight the next morning. Importantly the bed was comfortable and I did sleep well, which for me is the most important factor when booking a budget hotel like the Ibis

Airport staff had wrong info about airport shuttle

Posted 08-Jan-2016
When you stay at an airport hotel and ask the reception desk for a 5am wake-up call it is reasonable to expect the hotel staff to either provide the correct information about the 5am airport shuttle, or ask a colleague for the correct information. The Ibis hotel staff gave me the wrong information -- TWICE. Both evening and morning reception staff told me that the shuttle picked up right next door from the Holiday Inn (a five minute walk away) and that it ran about every 10 minutes. No, there is no shuttle from the Holiday Inn, which I found out after hauling my luggage to the Holiday Inn in the freezing rain, and in the dark. I wasted another five minutes getting directions from the Holiday Inn staff about the shuttle, which is actually another five minutes away, across the parking lot, down a long flight of stairs and on the side of a busy roadway. After waiting in the pouring rain at a bus stop (with no shelter) I gave up and carried my luggage to the airport terminal -- about 15 minutes away, as there were construction barriers and a diversion in the airport parking lot. No shuttle bus passed me along the way. Shame on you Ibis. I arrived at Departures exactly one hour before my flight. If the Customs/Departures staff were busy I'd have missed it entirely. I was lucky. IBIS - Please get your facts straight next time so other guests don't have the same problem, fumbling around in the dark, freezing rain trying to find an airport.

Convenient for Luton Airport

Posted 12-Dec-2015
Location: TIP - if you're catching the bus down to Luton Parkway, in the morning, walk back up to the Airport to catch it or watch full buses drive past you !!!
Helpful friendly welcome at 2330 on a Sunday night - comfortable quiet clean room with excellent shower.

My stay at the Ibis, London-Luton Airport

Posted 10-Nov-2015
Pros: The room, the bed, the food & drink and the staff. # SEE ABOVE
Cons: Socket and non-slip bath mats # SEE ABOVE
Location: Situated close to the airport, the Ibis can be easily reached by the railway station shuttle bus from both the airport and the station.
I had a comfortable room with a bathroom with the expected amenities except an electric razor socket. There is a 'Non-slip bath mats; available in reception' sign. far better to automatically provide them to minimize accidents. The floor in the shower unit was very slippy. The restaurant has an adequate, reasonably priced menu, the food was tasty. The staff were helpful, but some of the east European staff had limited English - which led to one or two misunderstandings.

Good but check what time you arrive

Nice hotel but check in at 14:00, very upsetting for an airport hotel. Early check in for 10£ an hour- really? At an airport?? A bit disappointing.
