Hotel looked good from the outside
Parking was a bit of a nightmare, in that the Hotel Car park was full + plus you were charged £5 for overnight parking, on top of the room rate. Reception did give directions to a nearby College Car park, however a spot became vacant in the time it took my fiancée to return from reception.
The day of the stay was hot & humid day 31 degrees, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the room had a functioning air conditioning unit, which had been left on prior to our arrival so the room was lovely and cool. My only complaint was the overwhelming smell of hot fat in the room, can only assume that the Kitchen Extractor Fans cant have been that far away. If anyone from the hotel is reading this it was Room 114 and the approaching corridor.
Overall the Hotel, was clean, tidy and welcoming, as was the room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good too. I would use the Hotel again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Bedford..
This hotel is in a great location, easy to find and has wonderful river views.
Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable with all the required necessities to make our stay as relaxing as possible.
Having read a few derogatory reviews re this hotel I was a bit dubious about booking, when I arrived I was greeted by Rana who made me feel more than welcome, my room front of house and ground floor was clean and well presented with on suite the bed very comfortable slept like a log the only drawback is the noise from traffic which passes quite close by. Breakfast which is included in the price was excellent I'm fussy about how my poached eggs are cooked and must say they were perfect Overall for the price paid I would recommend this hotel and will stay again
A two night business trip. Whilst the hotel is a few miles from the bustling metropolis that is Bedford it was clean, comfortable, friendly and had a nice atmosphere to it. It's set off the A6 but is very quiet (and my room faced the road). It also has a nice Italian restaurant and the breakfasts served each morning were good.
Bedford makes the most of its location astride the River Great Ouse. The green Embankment is a focal point, with the Mill Meadows bandstand and the boating lake taking centre stage. Visitors can soak up the views from a kayak during the warmer months or dine at one of the riverside restaurants. Castle Mound, the remnants of Bedford's medieval castle, is located near the town's modern high street.
