Good for the money.
A very beautiful and clearly old hotel set in an amazing medieval village. Hotel was very basic with lots of character. Some aspects need updating. Very dark bathroom decor and some squashed insects on the walls. Parking almost impossible near hotel but available a short walk away on the main road.

Was once a lovely old inn, but has seen better days; it feels more than a little tired and could do with some redecoration and renovation. Walls and ceilings are thin and facilities sparse. However, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Our staying as a couple.
The stay was very pleasant, the room is a pretty small and the shower entrance looks like a closet door, but nothing to worry about for a short stay. the area is beautiful and there are lots of restaurants around, just noticed that there are days almost everything is close and on the other days things close early. the bottom line: very recommended for couples on short stays.

2 star needs revamp and air..
Hotel needs a bit of air. I know it is a 2 star but our room was cramped hot with stale air. We were not allowed to leave window or shutters open due to bugs. The rooms are poorly maintained.

Great hotel in beautiful Beaugency
The host was great, checking us in quickly and providing a secure space for our touring bicycles. The hotel is beautiful, located on a corner on one of the main streets in Beaugency. The room was small but efficient and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and the shower perfect. The breakfast was classic French and the breads and pastries were all fresh and in some cases still warm. The hotel is centrally located to take in all the beautiful sights, shopping and restaurants Beaugency has to offer. We would definitely recommend Le Relais des Templiers and will stay there again on our next visit to Beaugency.

Good clean small hotel
It’s a small hotel. Everything is like a 3 star should be. We were there in a heat wave so our room was hot. No air conditioning but a good fan helped keep the room a little cool.

When we travel, we road trip. We do not stay in one place very often. Our proprietor was very friendly and helpful. We brought our son along with us because he speaks fluent French. Just know, outside of Paris, English is not as common. This hotel is older but is very clean and very comfortable. Our room was on the third floor and we were very appreciative of the fan they provided since our stay was in July. We would definitely come again!

A short but pleasant stay
The staff were so helpful especially with parking. They also had ready a list of suggested possible eating places and with a map. The town of Beaugency appears to be closed on Mondays. The banks and most of the shops were shut. There are plenty of ATM's available.

Great Location, good value, decor a little tired.
This hotel was good value for money. It is in a great location in the centre of Beaugency, close to lovely restaurants, interesting historical places and the Loire river. The hotel made us feel welcome and was clean but the decor is tired and in need of improvement.

Charming Hotel right near the castle
The proprietors of this this charming hotel are a very sweet French couple who take the comfort of their guests as their first priority. Their English is limited and our French equally limited, but we managed to communicate and even had some delightful conversations about local history and our travels on the Loire. The breakfast for an additional 9.50 Euros was well worth the cost; with plentiful bread, cheese, meat, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and cereal, as well as help-yourself coffee and tea, in a lovely setting. The castle museum and an ancient Romanesque tower (once assaulted by the forces of Joan of Arc) are literally right outside the door. Medieval town, fine restaurants, and amazing cathedrals all in walking distance. Beautiful river park and stunning photography opportunities. We loved our stay. The price is very affordable and we really hated to leave.

Good Value Budget Hotel
This is definitely a budget hotel. Small room, nothing fancy, surprisingly decent-feeling mattress and acceptably clean. The gentleman who seems to run the place (he was there at check-in) was very friendly. His English was very spotty though. This town is not nearly as lovely as points further West in Loire, but we needed a place further East so we could drop off our rental in Paris the next morning with a shorter drive. That said, this hotel was right in the middle of the town, so very convenient if this is the town you want to see. They say there is parking. And technically, there is. The manager gladly showed us his garage that could fit a few cars, if we wanted. We didn't even bother because all the street parking within a few blocks of the hotel is unrestricted. Perhaps this could be more of a problem in peak tourist season. We were there in early April. All in all, a good bargain that meets basic accommodation needs. And the wifi worked!

Super place to stay
Super people so very helpful. Printed out and map and directions to the place we were going to, without being asked. At breakfast I asked where to buy some batteries, but I was told that the shop wouldn't be open until 9am ,we wanted to be away by 8 am.Before we had finished breakfast they had been out and bought some batteries and put them on the table for me.Nothing seemed to be too much trouble to make sure the guests had a good time.

Stayed here for two nights while cycling along the Loire. One night more than planned because of heavy rain. This is an old style mom and pop hotel where everything is clean and functioning and you can tell there is a pride of ownership. The rooms are a bit small but not unlike other French hotels. Excellent internet connection and very helpful courteous owners. Secure storage for bikes was provided. Right in the center of old Beaugency.

The owner was helpful and did the best he could but our late booking tiny attic room a bit small for comfort. Bed not large either. Ok for one night. Lovely old village to visit.

Clean and friendly.
The room was clean and sheets and towels were changed on both days. Staff were lovely and tried really hard to help. Parking in the garage was 6 Euros a night but we felt worth it as the hotel was on a tight corner of a narrow road. Our only criticism was that the hotel was dated and needed a bit of an upgrade.

Perfect stopover
Pretty looking hotel in a good location in Beaugency. New management since May 2012 according to a sign in reception. The proprietor and his wife were very frendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom spotless and modern. Breakfast buffet was good. Good value and would stay again. We stayed here as a stopover on drive back from South of France to Calais.

Charming hotel in charming town
We stayed here for one night on the way down to the south of France. We had a triple room which had its own entrance. It was a bit dark due to the fully beamed ceiling and smallish window but that did lend to the character of the place and kept the room cool from the 40 degree heat going on outside! OK, not the Ritz, but perfectly acceptable accommodation. The bathroom had obviously been recently refurbished with new tiling, shower, basin and loo. Was able to pull up and unload luggage right outside hotel then park a little way up the street. Management all very hospitable. A very good buffet breakfast. Beaugency is the most charming little town on the Loire river with several restaurants and would make a good base for visiting the area. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Historic town
We had a nicely furnished room in this hotel for a very reasonable price. The town of Beauagency is very pretty, situated on the river, and the hotel is close to the historic centre. The hotel staff were friendly and let our cat stay in our room in his travelling cage. The breakfast was very civilised and a reasonable price. The bathroom was rather dated but the new owners only took over in May and are refurbishing.

Affordable charm
This hotel is very clean and well-maintained. Decor in the rooms is not fancy but pleasingly comfortable. The lobby, public sitting room and breakfast area, however, reflect the charm of this old town with exposed beams. There is a new owner starting May 1,2012 so I can not comment on the management ( which was excellent during our stay here in mid-April 2012).

A lovely typically traditional 2 starred logis in a beautiful setting ideal for enjoying this very pretty town. The buffet breakfast service was excellent, and the room very confortable although the bathroom could do with an update - but it was fine, with a strong hot shower. The owner was helpful, recommending some good restaurants but also try the Hotel Ecu de Bretagne for a lovely meal in a characterful old fashioned restaurant.

Hotel Le Relais des Templiers
This is a good hotel situated in a beautfil village close to Orleans and major roads. Used for a night stop over, the welcome was freindly and very informative. There is no parking, but manged to park on the street and all felt very safe. There was some mildue in the bath room, but overall the room was clean and a good size - we had a quad-room. The village had plenty of bars/resturants with various pricing and lots of old buildings and streets to amble around.

The Relais des Templiers, in Beaugency, France.
The Relais des Templiers has all the charm of a traditional hotel in the heart of an old French city, ideally situated in a fine building of comfortable size on a handsome one-way street which carries little traffic and no lorries. Beaugency is not large, and all its principal sights can be included in a very enjoyable walk from the hotel. We were sorry the hotel had no restaurant, because the breakfast was excellent. We hope to stay there again.
