Great hotel, facilities and design

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: Spa, restaurant and customer service
Cons: Spa availability and communication, add breakfast to packages as option
Location: Free shuttle to Clapham Junction and then the city is your oyster
Had a good time staying here to celebrate anniversary with my girlfriend. We were disappointed that there were no spa treatments available which apparently get booked up 4-5 weeks in advance (if booking on a weekend), but that being said there was more than enough for us to feel "relaxed" by such as the jacuzzi, resistance pool and sauna. Location is great and a meal for one night at the restaurant is highly recommended. Wish there was breakfast included in package and some dental kit provided.

The shuttle service to the tube had to be booked at least half an hour in advance and only at set times. Even then you were not gurenteed its arrival. So a taxi or bus was required to get to the tube!

Lovely night until!

Posted 11-Jul-2015
Lovely night until breakfast. Chased for Coffee and after 3 attempts at trying to get water and 20min for somebody to take our order we finally went to get some fruit and juice to find everything gone. It was another 20min before the bar was re-stocked. None of the tables had or were being cleaned from the previous guests so we sat in clutter and mess for the entire time. we witnessed a customer ask for a knife and the waiter removed a knife from one of the dirty tables and give it to the customer. The customer had to clean the knife and was embarresed to complain as his english was poor. Service was awfull

Great rooms but poor customer service

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: Great size of rooms Great views
Cons: Customer Service Cleaning
Location: on banks of the Thames close to battersea park. Buses to all central locations
Fantastic rooms with great space and fantastic views over the Thames. The hotel has such great potential but is lacking due to 1) Poor Customer service - everything was a hassle to do! 2) Poor cleaning - rooms not cleaned properly each day 3) Hassle if car parking - have to leave car and go to reception to get someone to open he car park despite paying 15 quid extra for the service 4) Hassle getting into the room each day - needed security to open the door to apartment flat - meant to be on duty guard 24 hours but every time I came to door in 5 days he was not there 5) lobby to apartment smelled of dog 6) music in restaurant was way too loud

Good value, great room, if not a little soul-less

Room was very well appointed and immaculately clean. The hotel itself is a little soul-less but overall good value for a London hotel

Hotel accessible by helicopter - but not by tube!

Posted 02-Jun-2015 on Hotels
We would have enjoyed this hotel much more had the instructions to find it been clearer. As it was, we got off the tube at Clapham Common only to find that "ring the hotel for a shuttle" was not feasible as there was no phone number on my print out. Shuttles from Clapham Junction were invisible, so we walked for about one hour before we found it. If they had only said on page 1 that the bus from Victoria stopped outside we would have taken that. Breakfast was ok but expensive for such a mediocre choice.

Avoid

Far from the centre, and yet for some reason lower in quality. Only three levels so no views, very amateurishly run hotel. Uninterested service. Got given a room that looked over a brick wall and the valet entrance. I checked out early an went to a different hotel.

Rafayel on the Left Bank

Posted 30-May-2015 on Hotels
We booked the room last minute. It was extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the lighting in the bathroom was very dark (and magnifying mirror was missing), which made applying make up very difficult - the mirrors within the study/dressing area were in "dark spots" too. Breakfast was very good, and the complementary shuttle to the tube station was much appreciated.

Great Hotel but a bit Isolated

Posted 26-May-2015 on Hotels
The hotel and staff at the Rafayel on the Left Bank were fantastic. As it is a new part of the bank that is being developed it was quiet but a bit isolated from subways etc. A tip is get an oyster card as there is a bus stop outside the hotel and you just jump on a number 170 which take you into Chelsea and Victoria Staion. Great bed really comfy. Staff couldn't have been anymore helpful.
