Overpriced for the standard of service provided

Posted 09-Oct-2017 on Hotels
Arrived early and rooms were not available which wasn't a problem as we would have had a drink in the bar. BUT - no draft beer, no Chardonnay wine - very limited choice of anything else. Excuse - a wedding left them void of alcohol even though we arrived on a Wednesday! Meeting up with friends, so 4 rooms booked months in advance. Not acceptable. Staff in restaurant not the most dynamic - table of 5 asked for sweetners and eventually returned with 3 satches so asked for some more only to be told it may take a few minutes to get them!. Staff not efficient at clearing dirty crockery at breakfast service and would rather walk back to the kitchen empty handed. Rooms were relatively clean although we had a cracked wash basin and missing grout on the flour tiles. There was also a rip in the middle of the quilt cover. The bed however was extremely comfortable. We found this hotel to be overpriced for the service provided and would not return

Nice Manor turned into B&B. 15 minute drive from the center of Bath. Staff friendly and room large and comfortable.

A real treat

Pros: Atmosphere, garden & loved the spa
Cons: The outdoor spa area needs some TLC. We didn't have coffee in our room.
Location: Lots to do locally for all the family.
Welcoming, including a warm welcome to our dogs! A lovely hotel, comfortable rooms with lovely bathroom. Such a comfortable, massive bed. Would love to come back to this hotel one day. Food was very nice & we dined outside with our dogs.

Beautiful hotel, very polite friendly staff. Room was wonderful, enjoyed breakfast. 20 min taxi into Bath center at around £12 so not bad.

Nice stay but slightly over priced.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly and we were shown to our room by another member of staff. The room was clean and well decorated, yet quite small. It was also very hot with only a small window to let some cool air in. Our room also faced onto the main road which took away the quiet and peaceful feel for the area. The shower starts out strong for about 5 seconds and then looses a lot of pressure which was a little bit frustrating. The Spa area was nice and clean. The pool however is out doors and could possibly benefit from a canopy as it was raining when we stayed. Breakfast was nice, but over priced if you have not booked it with the room. You get 1 piece of bacon, 1 sausage, egg, mushrooms and back pudding and some toast. On the 2nd morning we were also a bit forgotten and took ages for them to take our order. WIFI is free and easy to connect to. The grounds are also lovely We paid about £300 for the 2 nights. It was lovely and clean, but compared to some other places we have stayed, it is a little over priced. My husband also requested a morning paper which he never got.

Bad turning good

Posted 26-Jun-2017
Pros: Restaurant area, swimming pool and the grounds..
Cons: Maintenance....and cleaning up of Bird droppings in some areas...
Location: The town of Bath....River boating...and many of Parks, old Manors and gardens...
Upon check in ,Staff greeting was friendly and quick check in... then to our room.....Looks nice , Big , with a view...But then we notice the the Tub was not CLEAN,,, a ring of scum around the whole tub , we inform the front desk and they gave us more towels, ????. They said they will send someone to clean...No one came...So later on we took a shower, look like someone already used the Bath soap. it was left open ,then we put on the shower , the shower hose was broken so almost all the water came out of the broken hose.....not the shower head.... The furniture was rundown and old....I inform the hotel manager, Caroline....she came and inspected the situation and she went out of her way to accommodate us and free upgrade and compensate us....She apologize and made sure if there is anything else she could do...We went to our upgraded room and WOW..Big and spacious..CLEAN..I was impressed and satisfied......So we enjoyed the Spa facilities and especially the POOL....because it was their hottest day in England, 85 degrees.. ..Thanks to Caroline again for her call of duty....

Looks nice from the outside

Posted 17-May-2017
Hotel looks lovely outside with the gardens well kept. Bar area and resturant are ok but the rooms are very dated and the bathroom was not clean. If more attention was spent on improving and updating the rooms this hotel would be a nice place to spend a relaxing weekend at
