Bad turning good

Posted 26-Jun-2017
Pros: Restaurant area, swimming pool and the grounds..
Cons: Maintenance....and cleaning up of Bird droppings in some areas...
Location: The town of Bath....River boating...and many of Parks, old Manors and gardens...
Upon check in ,Staff greeting was friendly and quick check in... then to our room.....Looks nice , Big , with a view...But then we notice the the Tub was not CLEAN,,, a ring of scum around the whole tub , we inform the front desk and they gave us more towels, ????. They said they will send someone to clean...No one came...So later on we took a shower, look like someone already used the Bath soap. it was left open ,then we put on the shower , the shower hose was broken so almost all the water came out of the broken hose.....not the shower head.... The furniture was rundown and old....I inform the hotel manager, Caroline....she came and inspected the situation and she went out of her way to accommodate us and free upgrade and compensate us....She apologize and made sure if there is anything else she could do...We went to our upgraded room and WOW..Big and spacious..CLEAN..I was impressed and satisfied......So we enjoyed the Spa facilities and especially the POOL....because it was their hottest day in England, 85 degrees.. ..Thanks to Caroline again for her call of duty....

Looks nice from the outside

Posted 17-May-2017
Hotel looks lovely outside with the gardens well kept. Bar area and resturant are ok but the rooms are very dated and the bathroom was not clean. If more attention was spent on improving and updating the rooms this hotel would be a nice place to spend a relaxing weekend at

Holmwood Park Review

Posted 04-May-2017 on Hotels
This weekend we stayed for two nights at Holmwood park hotel. Not only were we not happy but many of the other guests commented on similar problems. 1. The hotel was not clean. Not only did it smell dirty but the decor had damp patches, wallpaper coming off in places and the bathroom not clean. 2. The Spa. This should feel clean and of a well being. To get to the spa you had to walk out of a small back door past wash bags. The furnishings were old and untidy, the shower in the ladies changing area filthy and when the bubbles were not on in the hot tub the dirt on the bottom could be seen. 3. The staff were friendly but it was a shame that they lacked basic training of customer care and waiter service. 4. Breakfast. The first morning the breakfast was OK (not 'fresh' fruit salad though). On the second morning it took 15mins to get the attention to get a coffee, another 15mins to relieve it and be able to order hot breakfast. The is very little vegetarian options and when another couple asked for gluten or wheat free produce there was none. 5. Gardens. Established area of the gardens was beautiful but lack of gardener around spa area with beds left looking bare. This hotel could be a beautiful place to visit but in summary, well furbished decor but desperately needs refurbishment, needs a good clean, staff trained and a Manager available during a busy bank holiday. weekend. In our opinion certainly not good value for money and up to the image portrayed.

Lovely luxury hotel just outside of Bath

Posted 15-Apr-2017
Pros: rustic feel and the new rooms and spa
Cons: 11pm curfew and we had a problem on last day having to wait a long time for our breakfast but all sorted on checking out!
Location: Bath city centre!
We visited for a second time, the first time being before the extension and the extension and spa really benefits the hotel. not too far from Bath city centre, 15 mins tops... 11pm curfew but still lovely hotel and time.

Very nice and pleasant countryside hotel

Posted 22-Mar-2017 on Hotels
Hotel was very nice and lovely, the grounds is beautiful and this was in beginning of spring so should be even better in summer. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a hic up when trying to get a towel for a swim and beware you can't use the lockers it's for spa guests only and finding your way around to the pool is tricky lots of people wondering around trying to find it. The heated pool outside is a very nice touch and pleasant and the spa pool is huge and lovely. The food is very well presented and taste beautiful. The room was amazing and well kept. The breakfast spread was excellent with a very good selection. The only complaint would be that breakfast is served to late for people on business trips a 7am instead of 8am would be better.
