Bathroom could have been cleaner. Floor covered in hairs. Bedroom carpet also not hoovered well. Swimming pool ceiling had black mould on vent and hydropool tiles and matting dirty.

Just enjoyed a one-night stay at Combe Grove. My elderly mom wanted to visit Bath and this hotel was by far the most affordable. I booked online via Hotels.com and the hotel rang straight away to confirm and check any special requirements. It’s located slightly out of town but the staff happily agreed to let us arrive early, park the car and arrange a taxi into town. The building and grounds are stunning - traditional Georgian decor so not Uber contemporary but just stunning. We met the founder of the charity that runs the hotel and she was super friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food & service were excellent. I only wish we’d stayed an extra night to benefit from the leisure & wellbeing facilities!
This hotel had a few bad reviews so I was slightly reserved about booking here but I think it's basically management of expectations. We managed to book a night here for two people with breakfast for circa £80-90 for the first weekend in December when loads of other hotels around were much more expensive and I'd read the reviews to know the cheaper andmore basic deals/rooms weren't in the Manor House but in an outbuilding. The room was pleasant, clean and nice, we could use the swimming pool and gym facilities and the breakfast was tasty. There are definitely things which aren't ideal, like the view from our room was a road and some trees and other buildings, there was a random door in our room leading to outside which didn't open and you had to walk outside to get to reception and the swimming pool and the steam room was broken but it was fine for a night and the value we paid.
The hotel was very grand and had beautiful grounds. The only problem was that there was quite a lot of stairs to the bedroom facilities which are located outside. Also there is quite a big road to get into the property
Lovely relaxing hotel. Good sized rooms. Restaurant food was delicious and caters for gluten and dairy free diets. Staff are learning as part of apprenticeships, but are very friendly and helpful. Spa facilities were all working and it a reasonable condition. Several areas were being repainted whilst we stayed, but this didn't get in the way. Breakfast was very good
