No frills room but cheap & central!
Think of it like a private hostel room with en-suite! Rm #22 in annexe on road beside main hotel building! Good- location, right by multiple main streets/ beaches Cheaper than everywhere else!! Negative - very basic bedroom facilities/decor-almost monastery like. Luckily bathroom was more modern. No coffee making facilities in room Only 1 plug socket in whole room No English channels on small wall hung TV Very slow wi-fi and bad signal for phone (bring a book to read or go to a cafe to work) Noise from late night street revellers as narrow street enhance chatting (earplugs needed) Noise from other guests coming in from door/slamming door/walking up stairs/slamming room door at all hours (my room was #22 closest to Annexe from door. Reception staff very lukewarm No air con/ fan in room Room reserved on a card that got cancelled so hotel cancelled reservation without informing me (only noticed when i logged in to check booking- imagine if i hadnt checked- i'd have turned up at the door to NO reservation , they should have contacted me to charge a diff card!!!!!)

Stayed in the building next to the hotel, super convenient location. Close to restaurant, bars, beach, market. The room itself was okay. Had everything you need like AC. The hair dryer broke on me, pillows were a bit dirty, and the WIFI DOESNT WORKK. That was the main issue I had.

Very noisy. The street was noisy but worse were partying clients crashing on floor above all night. Staff did nothing to stop it even though it was very very loud.

They have a separate property across the road which is nice for coming and going as you please - but close to bars so some noise - great location though

Smelly, old, not even a bathroom door separating the bathroom from the room, no ac and right by a loud part of town, so have to pick whether to open window for fresh air and let in noise or close window

Great location right in the heart of the town and near the beach. Clean, everything is new and comfortable, safe. Wonderful to walk around. Parking is bit hard on the tiny space on front of the hotel.

Room with a view... of a wall.
As a frequent visitor to Biarritz, I would usually stay in an apartment, but a late-ish booking meant there was no availability at my usual favourite residences. Very basic accommodation. Room was in separate building, and not up to 3* standard. Very small single room - with a double bed, meaning there was no space for a bedside table, which was extremely inconvenient, and it was very cramped. When the suitcase rack was put up you couldn't open the room door properly as there was just no space, and nowhere else to put a case. Only 1 pillow provided. Only 1 usable socket (the TV socket was so high up you'd need a very long lead to be able to use it for anything else. I had an amazing view... of a wall a couple of metres away. The sheets were crumpled and had not been ironed - they appeared to be clean but who knows? On the whole the room was clean and the bathroom was pleasant. The bed was comfortable. But I won't stay here again!

You reserved the smallest room (10m2) the less expensive in our separate house 79 euros at night in July ground floor as indicated on the site. It is small but equipped well with a bed in 130 for 1 person and wifi free. We have rooms with various views, balcony, see ocean but more expensive, you had the choice you chose the least dear. You appreciated the bed, the cleanliness, the bathroom it is the most important for us but not for you you prefer the view outside in the night !

Next to restaurants and good scenery
Was centrally located but with limited parking. But parking facility 5 min walk and only 19 euros a day. Plenty of restaurants around. Breakfast a bit expensive but convenient.

The Manager With No Manners
The Hotel Anjou is very well situated, with decent facilities; however, the ignorance and lack of manners of the manager negated all of this.

We do not understand your comment, we were listening to all your requests: - tuning tv stronger because problem of audition - advice for the purchase of the swimsuit - Tips for taking buses - explanation of the city plan with the centers of interest - free taxi call These are services that we find normal to serve and that do not justify your disdainful comment towards the owner

Good for a short stay
Well located little hotel in charming, lively Biarritz. One block from excellent city market and only a couple of (hilly) blocks from terrific beach area and its promenade. Restaurants and cafes aplenty. Only downside of hotel: our room, at least, was very small, barely big enough to accommodate the queen-sized bed. Bathroom/shower, on the other hand, were good sized (as well as modern).

Biarritz is a lovely place to stay and the hotel location was excellent but the room was tiny and cramped with a toilet and shower as an after thought also tiny!

Only problem with this hotel is no lift . Hard work for older people to get their luggage to the 2nd floor . Everything else is excellent.

Awful noise from outside through window shutters
Not able to sleep due to awful noise coming through the window shutters and bathroom fan vent although it was turned off. noise sounded like the winds from a storm. Room too tiny for hotel being two-star.

Great location with popular bars nearby
We had a peek of the ocean through our hotel window, and enjoyed the local night atmosphere. We didn't need our car to enjoy the area. The hotel is close to the beach, which was perfect for our jogging to the lighthouse. Great place to stay!!

We stayed in the annexe & found the room to be clean & well presented. Unfortunately there were only light curtains at the windows so there was a lot of ambient light both day & night. it was also quite noisy as it's an old building & not well sound proofed. Strangely the TV also turned on of its own accord whenever the doorbell rang. However, it was in a great location & the staff were friendly & helpful.

Cosy self-contained room.
Just had a couple of nights and were given the annex part of the hotel, a ground floor self-contained unit with a double bed and a single bed. This had it's own key and we didn't have to go through reception which was nice. (So can't comment on main hotel area/rooms). Great walk in shower room and air-con and TV. Nice area with trendy places to eat and five minute walk to nearest beach. Great market very close on a Weds which then had loads of stalls in the evening selling food and drinks! Was room 28, it had good black-out curtains and shutters but you could hear occasional noises outside, but this is Biarritz!
