Hotel is fine comfy warm the check in process been 3pm was a bit late considering most of your guests that day were from a wedding party some were allowed free early check in others were told no with out even checking if rooms were ready bar staff on the late evening were quite rude to the wedding party and the house maids barged into the room at 9am !! Unyet check out wasn’t until 11am so all in all we had our room 18 hrs check in at 3pm and maid cleaning 9am next morning not great value

The Apollo is not a hotel i would recommend. I had booked based on a 2 day training course i was attending being held there. Upon arrival the check in was disappointing and we were basically ignored for some time whilst the desk staff chatted between themselves. I lasted literally 2 minutes in my room. Very dated, but more critical, there were no sockets near the bed, no ethernet connection at all and no wifi in the room. Not acceptable for a business trip when i would need to work in the evenings. I returned to reception to ask for a move to a more suitable room and am happy to say the very helpful lady now on the desk did this for me. I must also add she was very suprised to hear of the inadequate facilities in the room. Anyway my 'upgrade' was to an ambassador room. Unfortunately this was not much better but did have wifi. The ambassador was simply a bigger version of the first room and was equally dated and still had no sockets near the bed in which to charge my phone cum alarm clock at night. I was however treated to some half eaten biscuits under the bed this time. The shower was all but useless and was a struggle to fit in. The entire room got flooded every time i used it. Most disappointing though was the £24 breakfast. It was all but inedible, the coffee was literally the worst i have ever drunk. Maybe i sound over critical but my views were shared by colleagues who in some instances would probably leave a more damming review than me. Find an alternative!!!

    4/5 Good

For a 4* hotel, the room was a little tired. Particularly the bathroom, it was dated and a bit shabby.

    Apollo not for us!

Staff friendly. On arrival the Family Deluxe Suite was not prepared for 4 people as per booking but set up for 2 guests. The sofa bed was prepared later in the evening however no mattress/seat protector cover was placed under the bottom sheet. Therefore it was very uncomfortable and unhygenic. All the bedding was poor quality and very worn and shabby. Items on the hospitality tray were low value and not what one expects from a Four Star hotel - similarly the breakfast was budget quality and poorly presented. The Swimming Pool requires substantial upgrade (rusty metalwork I consider a hazard) The considerable charge of £362.18 for 2 nights B&B was not reflected in the standard & experience of our stay at this hotel. Very disappointing!
