Paradise First Hotel

"An unforgettable 6 days — Paradise First Hotel My wife and I stayed at Paradise First Hotel for six days, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our whole trip — mostly thanks to the incredible hosts, Latu and Alai. From the start, Latu and her staff went above and beyond. Every morning brought the biggest, most generous breakfast spread. When our taxi ran late one evening, Latu simply drove us to the restaurant herself. She also took us on a full tour of the island, which was such a fun and generous thing to offer, and personally dropped us off and picked us up from our conference each day. She has to be one of the kindest people we've met while travelling. On the Friday night, the hotel put on a Tongan feast for guests, and we ended up sharing dinner and stories with the other people staying there — a lovely, communal touch that made the whole stay feel less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into a home. Adi at reception was also wonderful — warm and helpful throughout our stay. By the end of our time there, we'd gotten to know Latu and Alai well enough to exchange gifts before we left, and we made sure to invite them both to dinner with us later in the trip. If you want a stay that's as much about genuine hospitality as it is about the room, we can't recommend Paradise First Hotel highly enough."

"Room was pretty good, we had a cold weather patch so did not use aircon or the pool. Bars could have been open more to cater for guests so it was a dry argument later in the evening, past 10pm"

"Very spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation. All 3Rooms are large all have closets, beds are queen sizes and comfortable. Master bedroom with ensuite, has laundry with huge w/machine and dryer, has a/c and built in fans, beautiful views from the porch. The host is a very friendly and generous gentleman and offers to help with anything we need. Overall one of the best accommodation my family have ever stayed in and enjoyed and next time we do back we'll definitely book this beautiful place."

"We enjoyed our stay in this little cabin though found that despite the advertising writeup beforehand, that we arrived to share the premises with a couple we didn't know - but this changed over the next few days. In the second week we found that despite the host's assurances that we had the cabin to ourselves for the rest of our stay, another couple of travellers arrived on the eve of our leaving. Needless to say we all got on well, and it was lovely to meet 4 new different travellers, but this was a situation (2x) we weren't expecting - plus in the second week a high school student from the family came to share too. All facilities were adequate (though our of our bed legs broke on the second night!!) but all fixed up the next day. Lovely to have fridge, microwave, clothes washer/clothes line all included. Very friendly hosts who went out of their way with hospitality. Shops were just around the corner, with maybe a further 20 minute walk into town. Very handy location for touring around. I'd go back again (despite the dogs and roosters through the night...) and also recommend for someone who loves staying close to Tongan everyday life."
