This hotel is walking distance from all the main attractions in Bari. Right next to the shopping district, 10 minutes from the train station and minutes from the old town. The hotel is very clean and modern. The rooms are elegantly decorated and the bathrooms are pristine. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety to choose from. Wifi worked well. Highly recommended!
The swimming pool and grounds are very good and a welcome oasis from the city of Bari. Also using the restaurant for dinner was very enjoyable and to a good standard.
However the superior room we booked (and all the other Superior rooms) looked out over the very busy railway station, so were very noisy. We had pre-requested a Quiet and Non-Smoking room, so asked and were moved to a quieter room on the gardens side overlooking the villa and pool.
There were only towels for one person, which were topped up on request.
The curtains were hanging off the tracks.
The air con unit pumped out the smell of cigarettes.
Breakfast was a shambles on the busy days.
Housekeeping needs improving. e.g; plastic cups not replaced after day one.
Decent hotel, the main lobby is nice but the rooms feel like they were renovated a while ago at this point, could use to be updated. Worst part was that, like a lot of hotels in Italy, there was no option to control the room temperature, only how much heat came out of the vent. Also got some grief from the front desk staff having to argue about the breakfast clearly included in my expedia purchase. Otherwise not too bad (and the breakfast is actually quite good once you get around that other part)
We spent two nights at the hotel. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The restaurant is beautiful and the food and service was amazing. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and patio. It is surrounded by lush trees and is truly an oasis in the middle of a bustling city.
Lovely hotel. Only problem is that it is not close to any restaurants or supermarkets. Reception was very helpful though and offered to order us in a pizza or call us a taxi to take us to a restaurant.
Located at the top of Apulia's 'Heel of Italy', Bari is a bustling university town, and Italy's second largest southern city. The ornate, castle-like Basilica of Saint Nicholas stands proudly in the centre of the winding streets of old town, a short stroll from the harbor on the Adriatic coast. As the gateway between Italy and the Balkans, the Port of Bari is the departure point for many cruises.
