hotel looks dingy from the outside but room was very nice. breakfast was below average, there was only hot water from the shower in the morning and none at any other time, cleanliness was exceptional and staff were very nice

Nothing good to say about this hotel. Dirty carpet, dirty room, over priced for such dump. Howeverr, the receptionist, Nicola was lovely and very helpful.

Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. It is walking distance to the old town and designer shops. I strongly recommend it.

Good place for visiting Bari
Modern and well laid out. Staff helpful. Only wish is that the room was a little bigger as the bed took up most of it. A reasonable walk to the historic part of Bari and < 500m from the train/bus station.

Conveniently situated
Hotel Victor is in a great position a short walk from the station and also from the old town. Our room was adequate, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is a bit rudimentary but sufficient. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful, even printing our boarding passes for free, many hotels charge for this. We also left our luggage after check out and there was no problem with this. It's a good cheap hotel in a good position.

Quick stopover in Bari
We had an overnight stay in Bari before exploring the Puglia region. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very helpful.

Stayed 1 might, we loved Bari. Clean, tidy and modern room with good air con. Probably the best bed and shower we had in this price range in Italy. Was great to have a queen bed rather than two singles pushed together! We were also able to leave luggage there during the day after check out.

Short stay between Lecce (Apuila area) and Venice
We stayed for 1 night between our travel from Lecce to Venice. Hotel was nice and close to train station room was clean and the Internet worked well. Shower was great. Large and clean. Staff was nice and considerate and allowed us to have breakfast before 7 am so we could catch our train to Venice. Good choice for us

the rooms and bathroom were very large and the outdoor terrace was huge. great for sitting out later at night. the area is so-so nothing really special but the shopping is only two blocks away and very lively at night for dinner or just the passagiata. I needed the location to be close to the train for excursions. Breakfast was very nice, enough to eat and good caffe.. For the price you can't beat it.

Clean and Comfortable
We had a very short stop in Bari. We used the hotel as a sleep stop as we had to take an overnight ferry that night. We would have loved to explore the city and the port more. The hotel was nice and clean and the hotel staff were friendly. Would recommend this hotel if your staying in Bari.

Bari in June
Very quiet, close to the train station and a few blocks to the historical center. Early in the morning, there was no hot water but we phoned the reception and within 5 minutes, they resolved the issue. We were able to leave our luggage for a few hours until we got our bus to our next destination.

Passable Hotel in a Dubious Neighborhood
Booked the hotel since we needed a one night stopover close to the train station. i was well aware of the reviews of the property and booked a "new" room. We were attended to in a polite manner on arrival. The room was fairly new and was in pretty good shape for the inexpensive price range, but nothing that really makes you want to stick around. The entrance to the hotel is really unattractive, and you can almost walk past it if you aren't careful. It is located in a somewhat "seedy" area, and after an early evening stroll in search of some snacks, i could see that i wouldn't want to be out on the street in this area later in the evening, i'll leave it at that. Although not too far from the train station, it is nevertheless a chore if you have any heavy luggage. we chose to take a taxi which cost 8 euros. Nothing about these comments should be interpreted as negative towards Bari. On the contrary, after visiting the Puglia region for several days, Bari was the highlight, and the old city is really outstanding. We spent several hours walking all around, never had any problems, and had an excellent meal at the Black & White Restaurant.

A 4 star hotel? My expectations were raised by a luggage porter (unnecessary in my opinion). However the room had the feel of soviet-style establishment with faded bedding and a cupboard door off its hinges. Ok but not luxurious.

Terrible attitude from staff, terrible sleep
We were kept awake by party goers outside until the early hours of the morning (we were on the 8th floor as well). Staff were rude and unhelpful, we were not told about leaving our key with reception when going out at night so was left locked outside after they locked the door and pulled metal shutters, when we were finally let in the grumpy staff member had a go at us for not leaving a key! Would never stay here again.

Very central location in a very busy city. Driving is a bit of a nightmare and there is not much availability of car spaces. Luckily there is a. underground car park available directly across from the hotel 15 euros for a night however. The hotel may well have offered free parking but it was far too chaotic to jump out anywhere! Hotel is well located with the old town a walk away The facade of the hotel is nothing to go by and looks like it is going under renovation, however our room on the top floor was 5star and modern with a beautiful and spacious bathroom. I would certainly recommend this!

The room was not like the pictures shown. Pictures show modern room and we got a really old with dirty carpet. It was smelly, old and even the hot water was not working properly. I mentioned this at reception and they said that they have two types of rooms but we were not offer that option when booked online. Make sure. In any case, I do not recommend it.

Nice hotel but only partially 4*
The first room I was given was in no way 4*. No safe no fridge, very small, dated decor. I expected 4* so went to ask for a new room with safe and fridge (for medication). The second person I was referred to was kind and helpful and gave me better room. Much better room in fact felt like a different hotel. From that moment on my stay was good and I would recommend as very convenient, for walking, public transport etc.

More than expected
It was really a pleasant stay. Comfortable room, wonderful breakfast, not so far from Bari Central station. I've read some negative comments about this hotel, but I don't understand why they were not satisfied. If I have another chance to visit Bari, I'd happy to stay Hotel Victor again!

Acceptable Hotel near the Train Station
This hotel is a grungy, dated old establishment - what I would call a "business hotel" like the kind you find in Japan. It has no charm or character but does manage to feel like a hotel rather than a guesthouse. Everything worked fine - wifi was good, good shower. Fridge was turned off and I never turned it on, so can't say about that. There's an unusually large flatscreen TV. I didn't check the channel selection but instead attempted to hook my iPad up to it but wasn't able to access the HDMI input (I think it's locked - I found this in many Italian hotels). Location is a short walk to the train station but a longer walk to the more interesting parts of Bari. I'm a walker and walked to the ferry port with all my bags (about 20 mins.) but I wouldn't have done this if I'd been with my wife. The old town is surprisingly cute and if you are looking for a more romantic or charming experience, you should probably consider staying in the old town. But it you want something convenient to the train station and practical, this hotel was fine.

very good location.
there was no hot water in our room. on our request, we got another room , that happened to be an upgraded - larger and modern. location is in the center of the touristic area , near the water front. convenient parking house across the street per charge.

wouldn't reccomend hotel victor
they forgot a pillow which didnt realise till was about to go to sleep. the tv didnt work. there was just a fan cause the air con didnt work. the room was too hot. the location was central but that is a bout the only positive thing can say about my stay. it was also clean. but there was a faint smell cause the room was obviously not used that much.

Good location, nice breakfast. The wifi did not work in the room, only in the bathroom. The material in the towels was no good- more like a cloth or something. No aircondition, only a fan. It was too hot!
