Rambla C- On the top floor of a building from the 19th century with great views over La Rambla and Plaça Catalunya. Very bright and sky sight It is ideally located in the middle of the city centre, close to all public transportation. The large windows in the living room will help you to enjoy the view and watch the people strolling over the Rambla right from the couch :) It is perfect to enjoy the ideal barcelonian lifestyle: get your fresh breakfast at La Boqueria Market first thing in the morning and sit on one of the emblematic terrace’s to see what's moving the earth today. Located right in the middle of the old town, you can stroll through the Medieval looking streets until you reach the harbour and will be astounded by the exclusive boats you will see there. Passed the harbour, you will find the Barceloneta neighborhood. In this area there are many great seafood restaurants, tapas bars and of course the beach of Barcelona! Make sure to enjoy a cocktail on one of the many exclusive terraces next to the boulevard. When going to the other direction coming out of the apartment building, you will find Passeig de Gràcia, la Rambla de Catalunya and the Eixample Quarter with a huge range of exclusive shops , and two of the most well-known buildings in the world by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí: the Batlló House and Milà House, also known as La Pedrera. In walking distances to the port, Plaza Catalunya and many other nice sites to visit, and three minutes away from the metro (called Catalunya). This apartment has a very nice view of the activities of La Rambla. Tons of people walking on that stretch. Really entertaining in day time...can be noisy at night time....but that's what we choose. As for the apartment, the pictures on the web site are accurate. But don't expect more. We have a list of features (small ones) to add for a stay for a few days and using the facilities as an apartment (the whole idea) as oppose as an hotel. The features to add are: cutting board in kitchen (by the way there is no oven), proper pots for cooking, there is no dishwasher, please add a garbage can in the bathroom and laundry detergent that would go along with the washing machine. The bed could use a new mattress since this one could be described as a hummock. The place is really secure and you will remember the character of the elevator. Barcelona is a fabulous city and this flat is located in an ideal position. At a very reasonable price, you are positioned at the top of the La Rambla with access to the shops, restaurants, major sites and a reasonable distance to the Beaches. Your hospitality was most welcoming and insiteful for places to go. The tapas at Euskai Etxea were so fantastic they almost eclipsed the Picasso Museum. Finding the Jazz Jamboree was another highlight, we went twice and each event was unique jazz distinct from home. Of course this is in addition to the usual highlights of Barcelona that were so accessible from the apartment. The open, sunny apartment was so pleasant for respite between excursions. Having an in-unit washing machine was a bonus for us as long term travelers. We had lots of fun with the elevator! It served our purpose, we rested when we needed, we cooked when we wanted, and we were in the middle of all the action and close proximity to most attraction sights. The apartment had a nice bedroom, his and her closets, and even though, the mattress was hard, there was an extra comforter that we used to soften the mattress, plus there was an extra warm blanket, and the main comforter to keep us warm on those cool nights. There is AC and Heating in the bedroom and the main living area. We were able to cook breakfast daily, and at times cooked and prepared dinner when we were too tire to go back out. The apartment has all the amenities that a kitchen needs to prepare yourself and your partner small meals. My husband prepare every morning eggs in all sort of styles, rancheros, benedict, omelet, and even tried those famous potato egg suffle. The grocery store was only a block away, and they had all we needed, plus the Boqueria was also 2 blocks from the apartment. The best thing about the apartment is the proximity to all the great neighborhoods, sights, beach, and main attractions, and of course the famous pedestrian walk La Rambla, and Passeig de Gracia. Otherwise, we were just a short cab away from Montjuic, Parc Guell, a Sagrada Familia, and other important sighs. I will definitely come back again to Barcelona and this apartment, but next time it will be with our kids because even for them, the apartment would work great, and the city has lots to do for their entertainment. Hi Maria, We loved our stay in this quaint apartment! It's location, views, and comfort were a hit with my wife and I. Our friends who stayed at the Pulitzer a few blocks away, loved the apartment as well. Our aunt and uncle who live in Barcelona, came by to visit us and he too thought highly of this apartment. One night before going out to dinner, the other two couples came by the apartment to enjoy a bottle of wine and the typical finger foods (jamon, queso, aceitunas) while enjoying the breeze. What an experience! The convenience of a washer in the bathroom helped us tremendously. The apartment had ample lighting, good air conditioner, and a comfortable bed. The only thing I found wrong was the shower curtain - no matter how careful we were, water would seep through the curtain and end up on the floor. Thank goodness for the mop in the bathroom. The appt is perfect for 2 people & the lift was reliable & decorative. My husband & I found the street scene to be too loud at night as the noise went on until 3:00 AM but being in the heart of the Ramblas we expected some noise. Maria, our tour guide was so helpful and lovely, our time with her became one of the highlights of our week in Barcelona. Park Guell, La Saegarda Familia & Flamenco at Tableau de Carmen were the other highlights! We loved dining at Bar Lobo, sitting outside & listening to the street musicians while enjoying Tapas, doesn't get better! Walking is great and access to the grocery store, outdoor market and restraunts is very good. Public transportation is only a 5 minute walk and is very efficient for getting around. Monica was great to deal with and very friendly. I have no reservation in recommending this apartment and location, just be an informed traveller and make sure that it suits your requirements. ---
