We really enjoyed our stay at the Axel Hotel in Barcelona. It’s a beautiful place with modern clean rooms and a friendly accommodating staff. The hotel is located a couple of blocks from the L1 and L2 metro lines, making it super easy to get anywhere in the city.
Staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were a bit small with only a pane of glass separating the toilet, shower with the main bedroom. Please be aware this is adults only. **Please call the hotel to ask them why before you book or google it**
Barcelona is known for being one of Europe’s most thrilling cities to visit, providing its visitors with a range of entertaining activities to enjoy, whether it’s relaxing on the beach, dancing the night away in a club, or visiting iconic local attractions and famous museums. No matter your reason for visiting Barcelona, there are so many sites you won’t want to miss out on.
There's almost too many must-see places in the capital of Catalonia. For example, there's the Sagrada Familia church, designed by Antoni Gaudi; the Barcelona Cathedral in the historic Gothic Quarter; and the Boqueria market, known for its tasty produce and food stalls. Barcelona is also home to a range of delicious restaurants, trendy bars, and picturesque beaches, all with the type of vibrant atmosphere you’d expect from a major European city.
Though Spain is a staunchly Catholic country, the city of Barcelona is an extremely open and friendly environment, and visitors should not worry about where they book their hotels. However, the city does have certain neighbourhoods and venues that are considered especially LGBT friendly, so if you’re looking to book your hotel in these areas, be sure to use the Expedia search tool to find the best gay friendly hotel.
