Last Resort Hostel
We arrived at 15.00, and waited 15 mins in reception for the very pleasant gentleman to arrive, in his shorts and shirtless from the shower, to show us our room. The most hideously decorated I have ever stayed in, shattered glass in the window and a dirty tatty curtain that didn't cover it. Single glazed and broken , it did little to keep out the noise of the busy street outside. Yes there was a microwave, and a fridge I wouldn't have put any food in, no tea/coffee facility. Shared wc/shower rooms of matching quality with broken shower fittings, apparently maintained by someone visually impaired with not even basic diy skills. Cannot imagine how this warrants 2 stars, and at 59€ our night was 100% overpriced. Owners obviously have no shame or pride.

Bathroom needs preparing badly
The staff was friendly, but the state of the bathroom was awful. Never seen that mouldy place, the smell was disgusting too. Location is good, but I don’t recommend this place unless you’re staying absolutely drunk during your stay...

Worst hotel in history
Shocking hotel I was put in the laundry room with a makeshift bed and it was £86 for the night. Really think you should take this hostel off your website it’s easily the worst place I have ever stayed

It was very basic. Very friendly. The lock on the door was comforting. It was located in a nice area. The bathrooms were ugly and there was nothing to hold the shower head hose up so it was a bit inconvenient. Also we tried to come in rather late from partying but no one answered the door for 20 minutes.

Where do I start? Not only could you hear everything from within your room, and I mean everything... other peoples bowel habits, people throwing up, arguing... I had a knock on my door at 3am from the man who had checked me in. Coming to my room with a bottle of water asking if I want beers, I told him no and that I just wanted to go to sleep, he was persistent so I told him no again. He left and five minutes later there’s another knock on my door... there he is again, large bottle of beer in hand and a couple of plastic cups. This time he’s trying to come into my room, really pushing this beer. I kept saying no and eventually I managed to get rid of him. Really not sure what kind of behaviour this is, but as a female travelling alone having a man coming to your room, not once but twice after 3am trying to get alcohol in you. Really not okay, you should not feel unsafe in accommodation, too worried to fall asleep in case someone comes into your room. Overall - dodgy, uncomfortable and dirty... extremely unprofessional.

Very dangerous neighborhood. I had my phone snatched out of my hand right in front of the hostel. I only managed to get it back because 2 locals chased the guy until he threw it down to get away. The next morning I went out on the patio and it was full of sketchy people and I don't think they were staying there. Ali at reception was very helpful but the others were less than helpful and often didn't speak to me when I asked questions. I speak Spanish so that wasn't the reason. It's the reason I left Barcelona and came to Madrid. I love it here.

Good location but disgusting conditions. They put us in an apartment at another location instead of the single room+private bathroom we had reserved. When they brought us to the apartment, nothing had been cleaned including the bedding from previous guests. The staff did change the sheets and sounded like they did a quick clean up in the washroom, however the place was filthy overall and there is no way they cleaned the washroom sufficiently in the 5 minutes he was in there. It was disgusting. The kitchen was so dirty I couldn't even be inside. I was horrified by the state of this place. Might be okay for a group of 18 yr olds but not for us and not at the price we paid. Would never ever return and would never recommend to a friend.

A bit like paying to sleep in a public toilet.
I paid £69 for a room in this hostel and from the moment I realised it did indeed lie behind the dirty door lacking any reference to the name they're currently trading under I had bad feeling about it. The room was utterly disgusting, dirt smeared all over the walls, stains on the sheets and a single window looking out onto a central courtyard. To make matters worse the staff spent the night smoking in courtyard so I had to decide between a ridiculously hot room and one which stank of smoke. The only positive is that it's in a good location, but frankly so are plenty of park benches and they would almost certainly have been cleaner and definitely cheaper.

Very poor hotel, good location
The room was dingy, ugly and in poor repair. The hand held shower had no functioning wall mount, bathroom was very tiny, making showers awkward. The bathroom had a stinky mop and pail in the middle of the floor when we arrived, but even after we removed this, the bathroom still smelled vaguely of urine. We ended up needing to change our travel plans last minute, so booked this hostel since availability in Barcelona was quite limited. It was highly over priced, with no option for cancellation, and very substandard. Stay away!

Unmanageable stay... Horrible experience
Our stay at this hotel was horrible we couldn't stay the entire stay. At check in there were additional fees and unclear instructions to get to the lobby/ check-in counter. The route to the lobby was dirty, smelly, had nats, and unsafe. The room was small and dirty. There were holes in the ceiling and in the walls, the sheets weren't clean and had stains on them, the shower was moldy, and there was no heat. After indicating the heating problem to the manager multiple times they gave us a portable heater which also didn't work. After calling hotels.com the manager/owner of the hotel deliberately did not answer their calls to address our issues. I recommend this hotel be taken off this site and re-evaluated.

worst value for money ever
The rooms are overpriced. They are not very well maintained. No shower spray head water leaked all over the floor and onto my luggage. The reception staff are lazy and unhelpful. If the rooms were at a more swnsible price they you would accept substandard but it was premium price for a disgusting customer service. Be prepared to be kept awake from the sounds from adjoining rooms.The walls are to thin you can hear

This hotel should be banned...
I will not recommend this hotel at all. We could not check in on time, and was postponed. The room seemed not available. We were forced to move to an apartment, which was a bad experience since we had to bring our luggages up the stairways. This hotel should be banned from hotels.com. This is the WORST experience we have ever had while we are travelling.

Horrible,the first night I check in at about 10.30pm,there was no room available for us, in spite we have a comfirm booking from Hotel.com. They put us in a 1 star hotel without anything, no WiFi, aircon or heater, coffee making, TV, etc.We would like to claim back the money we paid for not having any of the facilities as promise ny Hotel.cam

Horrible place to even sleep in.
Simply a horrible place. The room smelt horribly the bathtub was rusty the bathroom door wouldn't fully close in order to use the toilet you had to close the door fully the lights would always flicker they didn't supply me with shampoo or soap the towels weren't clean and you can always hear someone screaming in the other rooms.

Dirty, no water pressure, beds are in terrible condition, and the overall experience is miserable. Would you like some drugs? If so, feel free to accept any of the offers from dealers standing outside of the hotel. There are countless better and cheaper options in Barcelona.

Over charge for the place.
The location is very close to everything but the place is even worse then the pictures. The beddings is not even clean. they have tv but not even plug in and no cable.I was over charge too for my stay. Overall I am not staying there if I ever come back to Barcelona.

This is hostel is this price for a reason; in fact given how horrible this place is, it is overpriced. If you notice the photo I have used it is of the outside to this hostel, which was not photographed on 'Hotels.com'. We arrived at 10.30 am after a local taxi driver struggled to find it and we were told that check-in wasn't until 2 pm, we negotiated it to be 12 pm (the time the booking site said) and never returned after such a bad first impression. The character at the check-in desk come office didn't seem to know what day it was never mind when we were able to check-in and appeared stoned. At first he said there was no record of reservation I then came round the desk to show him the confirmation email and confirmation number and looked at the computer screen and he was searching into Google! Once he seen those he was happy to take our 20 euros and then we went for a walk until we were allowed to check-in, instead we found another place to stay.

I can't recommend to chose this hostel
Location and price is very good. That's close to Liceu station and the station street is crowd but the way to the hostel is scary because there is not people especially mid night and early morning. And bed is not comfortable. Depending on your member and what your priority is, you should decide to choose.

My "single room with shared bathroom" was actually a bedroom in a scruffy 2-bed apartment 5mins walk away from the main hostel. The room itself was a double bed with another single bed alongside it and there was no space for anything else other than being able to open the door. Bathroom and lounge ok, wouldn't want to use the kitchen. For my 1 night stay it sufficed as I just needed a bed. Great location and friendly people who run it so maybe for the price you can't expect more in central Barcelona but dont expect any hotel or hostel "comforts".

Great location! Perhaps because it was La Merce festival, this hotel/hostel was WAY overpriced for what we got. The mattresses were covered in crinkly plastic and saggy in the middle,and the bathrooms were covered in stray hairs, and smelled faintly of sewage.

Really low budget hotel, but the price was not low enough to be ok. They did charge extra for paying with card, the room was not clean (old socks and a layer of dust on the top of the wardrobe), 4th floor and no elevator, no breakfast, etc.

First of all the name of the hostle dose not match with our booking we booked the hostle as central station hostel but the sign bord of the hostel is different secondly when we reached the hostel we were asked to come after 2 PM as they said they are cleaning the room thirdly they charged me 22 EURO as a tax for 2 night I think it should desplay in the web page of the hostel bcos it is too more than France & Rome ? Room fan was not working and toilet are very dirty

value for money in Barcelona downtown
Very central, close to the Rambla. We needed a clean quit place to stay overnight, with own bathroom + WIFI and that was exactly what we got. Worth every penny of the alreay low price .If you are looking for luxery you probably should avoid this place. The room contained a double bed and appr. 1,5m2 of spare floor, sufficiant for our suitcases. .

Scary but I survived!
This was a scary experience. The location is great - a block from Ramblas. The room had no AC and the window to the courtyard was open. I woke up in the middle of the night and was certain somebody was in my bathroom - it was somebody in the neighboring room just across the courtyard 2 meters away .

It is not a hotel but a hostal in a true sense.The room that was booked was not available, was given another room for extra money.The room was next to the street so was noisy all the night. Can't say much more than just stay away from it.
