Nice ocean view from our spacious room, exceedingly kind staff, and we definitely enjoyed the welcome drink upon arrival. We opted to have dinner on site, which turned out to be very good. We were only here overnight and appreciated that it wasn’t far back to the airport.

Hubby and I stayed at the Yellow Bird for 2 nights following a cruise. It's a small. boutique hotel, located directly across a small, one lane/one way road, from the beach, which is rather sea-weedy, but with water shoes it's lovely to walk on and goes out to a huge sand bar. Our room was HUGE and very clean, there was the unexpected bonus of a full kitchenette, the bathroom was roomy and appeared recently renovated. The A/C was icy cold and we had an ocean view room with a large balcony. Front desk staff were all super helpful and friendly. The on-site restaurant was immaculate and open to the sea breeze. While our breakfast was delicious, our server was unfriendly and inattentive which was discussed with an accommodating supervisor. The pool was clean, the lounges comfy. The location was perfect, with an easy walk to all restaurants and shops in St Lawrence Gap. Overall, Yellow Bird is a great place to stay!

The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was slow to come (45 min), but the staff serving it were lovely. Room was spacious and clean, with an excellent view on the balcony over the south coast. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

It is an excellent place and the staff are helpful. The area can be a little loud at night, but if you are a night owl or don’t mind music playing while you sleep then it is better than OK. When I say loud, I mean music not yelling or the like…and the music is good!!! And does not for on all night.

Very friendly and helpful staff eager to assist. Walk across small road to the beach. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A small hotel, great for a couple of nights stay over.

This is an excellent small hotel with friendly staff that go out of their way to make your stay special. The rooms with balconies overlooking the pool are spacious and very comfortable. The pool is well maintained and loungers and umbrellas provide areas to sit

The Yellow Bird Hotel and its staff is fantastic. Lovely. It is right where the nightlife happens in Barbados which we expected. What we didn't expect is that there is a club right next door that plays incredibly, incredibly loud live music until 2am. If that isn't an issue for you, then it is an ideal to stay.

Enjoyed the stay was overwhelmed with great hospitality and felt welcomed by all the staff and locals of Barbados . Great location, across the street from small strip of beach . Unique location close enough to the Gap but still able to enjoy privacy.

We stayed here for only one night because we were staying at another place. I would definately come here again it was in a good location. And the restaurant on property was nice and there were literally 4 other restaurant within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. I believe there were more with a slightly longer walk.

Loved the location in St Lawrence Gap. We had a beautiful view from our room of the crystal clear turquoise water right in front of our hotel. Very convenient to many great restaurants.

They do not have an elevator, but we knew that when we booked. So don't book and be surprised when y'all get there. The ENTIRE team is Top Tier. This hotel is located at the end of the Gap, so yes you can hear music around 1 in the morning, but it was okay. Ms. Monique ensured that we got early check in after our flight landed 1 something in the morning. The security guard ensured that we were safe. The only thing that I would do differently is carry more USD, so that I could tip EVERYBODY that works there. Transportation was easy. Look for the white vans with a burgundy stripe. It's 7 BBD to ride on each van. It's hot, so have a fan around your neck from Amazon.com. Visit the Oinstins on Friday night. Indulge in the culture. It's safe and beautiful in Barbados. The Yellow Bird is not a huge hotel. Be sure to leave a tip. I can't stress this enough. The experience here was TOP TIER! Thank you to the ENTIRE staff!!

Place to really relax!
The hotel was central to restaurants and shopping in St Lawrence Gap. It is dated but definitely functional. A/C worked great, balcony was fantastic, space in the room was good, bed/pillows were not as soft that we were used to but slept fine. Staff was SUPER accommodating and always helpful from the front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping to security (we arrived later in the evening due to flight delays). Pool was perfect for us. Clean, 5ft deep, close to bar/restaurant and chairs were great to enjoy the hot days. Literally across the street, I was able to snorkel although I didn't see much it was nice to be able to go out and explore.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
Great location. This was a business trip. very Noisy. The service at the restaurant was horrible the waitress was not very friendly she just gave me my food and left no refills or anything. Plus the food portion is enough for a 9-year-old. Furniture is outdated. and the bed liner was filled with stains. I had to leave the hotel early because there was no electricity from about 11 a.m. the entire day no WIFi or restaurant service. This went into the evening it was extremely hot. I am in my room in complete darkness wondering what in the world is happening. No staff comes to check on the guest or explain this situation. WHY IS THERE NO GENERATOR? I had an am flight but was forced to leave at 7 pm because I had enough of this poor service. I paid $100+ a night. This is ridiculous. Therefore I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful staff, from reception, housekeeping, bar/restaurant and maintenance. So friendly and helpful. Whole hotel was spotlessly clean. At the start of St Lawrence Gap but easy to walk around and between two lovely beaches - only a 5 minute walk. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the fact that it was a beach front property and it was very cosy. The kitchen was fully furnished and it had tv and a/c in every room. I just love this property.

The staff were very friendly and there are lots of restaurants around St. Lawrence Gap. The Mexican place next door (Cafe Sol) is excellent. The taxi service they arranged was excellent. The air conditioner is on the balcony and blows hot air onto the sitting area--not the best design. The view is nice. The beach across the road is not very big. Luckily, the hotel is at the beginning of the St. Lawrence Gap party places and the noise is not too bad.
