Wonderful Hotel

Posted 14-Apr-2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Butterfly Beach Hotel. The whole place was very clean and bright. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were really spacious. We met several guests who were repeat guests, and we would certainly return to Butterfly Beach Hotel on future trips to Barbados. We had the opportunity to meet the owner and it was evident that the entire staff takes great pride in offering a wonderful experience for guests.

Beach hotel

Posted 07-Mar-2016
Pros: It is definitely a budget hotel so if you want a holiday by the sea without spending a fortune, this is it.
Cons: Kitchen facilities could be better, as could the internet speed. Very little choice of hot drinks and the food was just ok.
Location: Right on the beach
Sadly, my first impression was not good. When I checked in, the staff were helpful but I was surprised that I had to find the room myself and take my luggage too - disappointing as I was on my own. The room was clean but the kitchenette was not particularly well stocked. There was a blunt "sharp" knife and a slotted spoon. There was no hot water in the kitchenette so it was challenging getting the hot water from the bathroom to the sink. The worst aspect was the noise. My room was right next to the elevator and as there was ventilation from the bathroom immediately opposite, I had to close the door, thereby reducing the air flow. The road is noisy and a dog barked continuously during the night. There is wifi but it is very slow.

Gute Lage zwischen Ostins und Bridgetown

Posted 22-Jan-2016
Pros: Preis - Leistung - Lage
Cons: nein

Well run hotel

Posted 19-Jan-2016
Pros: See above
Cons: The bar and wait staff could do with a bit of cheering up at times, but they were fine.
Location: 10 min or $2BB bus ride (have the correct change) to Oistens, a longer walk for the healthy to the Gap. The bus will also take you to Bridgetown.
Previous positive reviews are true, clean, well presented facility, friendly staff, and nice grounds. To eat out or get groceries its a 10 to 15 min walk to Oistens. There is a small convenience store across the road, also try the roti in the Roti House to the right when you walk out. Oistens eating is pretty basic for more upscale go to the Gap etc. The $2 BB buses, vans etc run right by the door and are a great way to get to the Gap, downtown and up both coasts. Rooms where a little larger than some, but outs didn't have a microwave, showers hot water etc were good, we had a ground floor which had a nice walkout. The older building didn't have an elevator the newer tower does so ask for that if steps are an issue. Lots of Brits, some Europeans coming off or on a cruise, quiet place, they also have a policy of not saving the sun beds and then leaving, that wasn't a problem lots available. There is a beach each side of the premises, just watch the tide coming in on the left side. Water was great safe for a swim, they also have a medium size pool. Seems to be mainly an adult place with few kids

Schöne Anlage, 3 Whirlpools, direkt am Strand, fantastische Aussicht. Massive Balkontüren. Bushaltestelle schräg gegenüber dem Hotel. 15-20 Min zum Flughafen. Bus 1 USD.

Enjoyable second visit

Posted 10-Dec-2015
Cons: Bathrooms need updating. Would be nice to have WiFi in the rooms.
We stayed here again for 3 days when we arrived in Barbados. It is a short taxi ride from the airport and is not far (bus ride for $2 or 20 minute walk) from Oistins, for the Friday night Fish Fry. Rooms at the hotel are nicely decorated with white furniture and brightly coloured bed cover and curtains, though the bathrooms could do with updating. Extra charge for using the room safe, which should be included, since it is advisable to use it for any valuables. First set of pool towels are free of charge though there is a small charge if you want clean ones. No WiFi in room, had to go to lobby, lounge or restaurant. We had no trouble getting a sunlounger in the garden this time, though I still noticed people putting their towels on them at about 7.30am to "reserve" theirs. Food in the restaurant is OK at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Two happy hours for drinks, 12.00-1.00 and 5.00-6.00. No other restaurants in the immediate area, except a Chinese restaurant across the road, though I haven't tried eating there. Apart from that I think you'd have to take a bus or taxi to go out to eat.

Great place

We love the hotel, although we spent much time traveling around the iland. It was always nice to come back and swim on nice little beach and heave a delicious good drink, rum punch.
