The images of this hotel are unfortunately very unreliable, as the condition of the hotel is extremely worn down. It was very hard to sleep and relax as the street is extremely noisey and the the hotel seemed to be used for a lot of “visitors” at night. The room was a large size, however it was dirty, the bathroom was very poor and it was advertised as non smoking, however everyone was smoking. This hotel is located close to a lot of shopping centers and the train, however it was not worth the price we paid and not suitable for families. We will not be returning to this hotel.

The room I booked was not the same room I paid for online. They told me the other rooms were taken and could not refund me for the smaller room because I had already paid Expedia.

Don’t book hotels from the pictures on websites ( specifically in Thailand) Because it is not the same from website, we were disappointed and unhappy.

The propertt is very run down with major repairs needed. Room was neat not clean. Aircon made a hammering noise and killed multiple cockroaches during my 2 night stay. Shower and sink kept running could not turn off.

This hotel is old. I mean VERY old. The bed in my room was basically a box spring with a mattress pad. Hard as a rock! The cooking facilities are ancient. There is no shower stall...just a handheld shower head. Though everything was clean, and the staff was friendly, this locale is just too antiquated for a recommendation. I will not stay here again.

The Royal Ivory was once a grand hotel, in the classic sense, with a vast lobby including shopping, upper class suites intended for lengthy stays and all the trappings that includes. Much of this remains, however the area has become what it is, the nana section, so a trifle seedy, and perhaps the aging of the hotel reflects this. Nevertheless, she is still a great place to stay, if this is the area you're looking for, with exceptional value for those huge rooms with king beds, kitchenette, dining area and so forth. Well worth consideration, and I for one would stay there again.

pictures on the internet were much different than actual condition. The swimming pool was dirty, I would not let my son go in it. The courtesy tuk tuk didnt operate the time we were there. The TV was very old and although hundreds of chanels, no guide, so spent 20 minutes looking for appropriate viewing. The hotel is generally tired and old and has a smokey smell throughout.

Location far enough away from the nightlife to limit the noise but close enough to walk to. Lobby is spacious. Airport shuttle available and breakfast buffet was excellent.

Very large room with kitchenette and safe in room. Room was older, but well kept. The air was set to 25 with no controls so may be too warm for some. The pool was small but not used while I was there. Mattress was hard for my taste. That said, with all the amenities, I thought the property was an incredible value for the area.

Building is very run down and desperatly needs maintainance. Photos online must taken be 20 years ago and dont show current run down condition. Bed was clean and staff were great. Back to condition, masses of mould in bathroom, torn towels, old dirty fridge, peeling paint, needs repainting. Dissapointed and would not stay again.

First night we were upgraded which was nice but the view was horrible. Next night we were given our designated room which had a broken a/c. The pool was supposed to open after a week of repairs but they extended the closure for another week so we booked at another hotel for the duration of our stay in Bangkok.

Was a nice hotel long ago. Not now.
First night had no ac and two beds wanted the big king bed . Next three nights were in a different room. The ac was ac control was broken so first and last night in the room we froze and the middle nights stay no ac. The hotel was a nice place to stay but has gone down hill very fast now. Will not stay again.

Staffs and services were great. Rooms are not as clean and new as pictured. There was dust piles at the corners of the rooms, crumbs inside drawers, bad lighting, and yellow walls. The bed itself is harder than most but clean.

Dark and Dingy..Taxi drivers asleep on reception lounges...Dirty, seedy feel when you walk into the recption area...Indian call centre next to the restaurant..yukky looking salon with ladies asleep inside... The room was aweful, stained benchtops, a broken table and a lounge which was torn. Internet is virtually non existent. ..dial up speed at best Breakfast was a cold greasy mess...Coffee smelt like an ashtray...Staff are cleary not Thai..neck tatoos and full arm ones don't inspire confidence. ..People smoking in the restaurant...Nasty Indian man fighting with a Ladyboy all night next to my room didn't help...I checked after only one night...i ran.
