Old Hall Hotel

"The Hotel is quirky & very interesting due to the history of the building. Very clean but tired, when staff were around they were helpful. Well situated for all Buxton has to offer especially Opera House, Pavilion Gardens & restaurants. We live about 13 miles away and would always choose to stay at the Old Hall overnight when visiting the Opera House. Have stayed in various rooms and the beds have always been extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are ok but the hot food could do with being hotter! All things considered value for money."

"Nearby parking, easy checkin, 24 hour access, clean, quiet and well maintained room, had everything needed for a overnight stay. Only minor issue was limited airflow due to no windows."

"Spacious room (in modern extension to rear). comfortable beds. Clearly very new. Nice rooftop balcony bar area overlooking the Peace Gardens. Close enough to Q Park Charles Street car park, excellent location for everything in town centre. Check-in/check-out process somewhat cold/functional, service a bit ‘meh’ throughout. Did not have breakfast."

"Hotel was lovely. In a good location for town, very clean. Staff were all incredibly helpful, checked me in an hour early. The bar was really nice, decent atmosphere good music. The restaurant is only used for breakfast but a great selection."

"Fantastic hotel! Easy walk from the train station, and to other things that you would need to get to like eating and the university. Lovely lobby, they had a workout room which I didn't use but that's a nice extra, and the room itself is very nice. I would definitely stay again"

"Staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar was very good. The food was okay. My room was very comfortable. As other reviewers have pointed out the hotel is a little shabby around the edges. Breakfast was terrible. The hot buffet was tepid and tired. If I stayed again I wouldn’t pay £13 extra for breakfast I’d get something from the excellent on-site Starbucks instead"
