"From the greeting at reception to leaving the hotel all i can say is it was one of the nicest, friendliest, cleanest hotel i stayed in. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was outstanding The owner mingled with guests both at dinner and breakfast time and was a lovely person. "

"Lovely hotel with great staff. The rooms are very comfortable with lovely decor and The Handmade Soap Company toiletries are fabulous. Great breakfast and good dinners served in the restaurant. Great location, handy for Knock airport, Knock Shrine, Ballintubber Abbey and good road networks."

"It was a beautiful setting it had fantastic potential but here’s a list of the faults. Self check in system (room door unlocked key in room) another guest had checked into room we had booked. The room had a different number on the door to what it was (there was a number one on the door frame number 2 on the door) We had booked a ensuite bathroom but on the first night only had access to a shared bathroom with no hot water, no toilet paper (had to search the house to find it), blocked sink. Sent message to manager, no response until the next morning. Guest who was in our allocated room moved out the next morning, so we moved into our allocated room as the ensuite bathroom had hot water, it was dirty, we had to find fresh linen and clean up as best we could. No gas for cooking. Air fryer had wrong plug so couldn’t use. The property was quite difficult to find, no signs on the gate."

"Don’t let the humble exterior fool you! The Cortoon is newly renovated, very clean, and welcoming. Our room was spacious, and the kitchen even had a few thoughtful items for weary travellers to enjoy. "

"We were very happy with our room. The bed was so comfortable , the layout was great. I loved that they had 2 chairs and a table in between to watch tv as well as have a tea and coffee with a little biscuit .Free bottled water . They also included little extras like manicure set, toothpicks, toiletries . Bedside tables and lamps on both sides of the bed. We loved our stay , as good as any big hotel. Didn’t get to sample breakfast as we had an early start. Easy parking and easy checkout too.Not sure if it was the owner but the lady that checked us in was very friendly and welcoming and informative . Wed Definitely stay again ."
