The resort is located in a beautiful setting overlooking terraced ricefields, well removed from the bustle of Ubud township. Its remoteness is definitely a plus - its downside being the relative inconvenience of getting to and from Ubud. The resort provides free shuttle transport to Ubud on a fixed timetable. However, there is no shuttle service without prior reservation. This severely limits the usefulness of the shuttle service - guests need to lock themselves into a timetable.
The room rate includes breakfast. The choice of food and drinks is, however, somewhat restrictive. In particular, the hotel-provided fresh fruit is the standard 3 fruits: a few small slices each of water melon, rock melon and papaya. In a country that has a magnificent range of tasty and interesting fruits, this boring (and rather tasteless) selection of fruit is disappointing. A request for some other fruits could not be met - not even for bananas.
The room we had was tastefully arranged and furnished, reflecting good architectural choices. However, apart from a small towel rack, there is no hanger or rack for clothes and wet swimwear in the bathroom. A miniscule rack was provided on the balcony.
The room periodically had a foul bathroom odor in spite of several attempts by the staff to correct that problem. The smoke detector has a flashing light that was enough to wake us during the night.
