Grand Hotel Europe
4/5 Good
"The good: staff deserves five gold stars for service, efforts and friendliness. Breakfast is great, enough choices. One of the staff managers Samir was going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Professional skills, friendliness and a great sense of humor really made him a star of the show. It was a good view from our balcony, but facing busy street it was a quite noisy. The bad: A/C in the room was blowing hot air. We left it on, hoping for a chill evening just to find our room at 85 degrees by the end of the day. The little fridge in the room is even warmer than the wine cooler. Almost every time you trying to use A/C or heat the system will suddenly blow a cigarette smoke, like someone is smoking right behind the door. Also, everybody smokes at the bar/restorant area, and drafts eventually gets all this smoke right in your room. We went to check on the indoor swimming pool to find pool not working due to power issues, which is itself maybe a temporary problem, but the pool was located like two stories down, underground, sort of nuclear hide out. It felt very depressing just to be there. Such pool should be somewhere in the sun room, and have direct daylight. Room cleaning service was ok, no issues. "
