The staff at Montebello were very kind and helpful. The hotel is in good shape and was undergoing some renovation works during the period in which we visited. Very clean hotel

A pleasant place to stay
A pleasant night stay. The hotel was very modern, staff was extremely friendly, breakfast was awesome with a large variety. Room cleaned daily. Exceptional hotel.

The hotel was in a small town half way between Pisa and Florence and about a five ten minute walk from the railway station. The hotel is small, simple, and cheap. The staff was nice and helpful and the lady who checked us in was great. She offered us information about the area and Pisa and Florence, so we could get the most out of our stay. The room was small and basic, but for a couple who were only there a few hours a day it worked. There was a private balcony that allowed us to relax at the end of the day. The town was nice and simple to move about. It is a walk-able with an atmosphere at night from the locals gives the town some liveliness..

Best hotel experience in Tuscany!
Hotel Montebello is the best hotel in Montecatini Terme 1-location! it’s around the corner from Montecatini Terme the spa w healing water, pool and where to get treatment as well as the big pool that’s open until 7pm 2 The staff are incredible! super helpful they went out of their way to make sure everything is great and it was! I needed a bike the next few days after I check out, I was able to borrow it with no extra charge they were so kind and wonderful. I’m definitely coming back and bringing my whole family and staying there. 3-The rooms are very clean, comfortable bed, spacious room with a nice view. 4- the shower is strong water pressure. 5-Wi-Fi is strong doesn’t disconnect and it’s super fast. 6- breakfast is delicious with a wide variety of healthy choices. And the coffee is real coffee! 7-everyone there is so professional and helpful and always smiling. Great vibes all around! I had a wonderful stay here. Thanks so much Hotel Montebello team! Looking forward to coming back soon!!

Lovely friendly hotel on a quiet street. Rooms large, clean and well equiped. Food good, plenty of choice at breakfast. Would recommend a stay there to anyone visiting Tuscany and will stay there again.

The room was small but efficient and clean. The balcony was nice although the weather was not that good to enjoy it. The hotel is quite well situated and makes everything accessible. My friends had room 304, a wonderful one with two balconies. Next time !

good location but....
LOCATION: good, close to downtown, next to a major spa / hot spring site - terme verdi ROOMS: very small, but ok, one small windows looking over other building roofs. the toilette is so small that everything in there is miniature. SHOWER: the shower corner is so small that you are bound to bump into either the wall or the faucet. being a slim guy, I literally could not make any move. Worse is the "water saving" shower head: its slow flow doesn't save the water at all because it forces you to spend 3X more time than a normal flow. I do appreciate the energy saving effort but this hotel pushed over edge: I can deal with not changing my sheet, towels everyday (I changed them only 2ce for 6 days), card activated power supply (thumbs up!), but the shower just doesn't give enough flow to clean shampooing off your hair. SLEEP: 1. I was waken up the first night by a coughing neighbor because the rooms have no soundproofing whatsoever, with very thin partition between rooms. You basically hear every move your next door does. 2. remember, the hotel apparently serves as a pitstop btwn Pisa and Firenze, so it's constantly being invaded by bus loads of tourists day in day out. when such a group comes in late in the night, you just can't sleep with all these commotions, especially when the wall are thin. 3. the bed was not comfortable at all, sheets are clean. I paid 65euros/night for a tiny room that I could not sleep in. so a big no if your want a sound sleep after a long day.

Better than expected!
Comfortable room and beds. Nice casual rest. w/a varied menu for dinner (closes at 9:00) and also has a good assortment of breakfast items. We did not try the more elegant looking restaurant. I would've appreciated a more helpful & understanding phone explanation of the size of bed. We reserved an extra bed when, with more info, a 'matrimonial' bed would have sufficed. BTW a matrimonial bed is a king sized bed = two singles. This is something all hotels need to explain, as well as ALL Airbnb hosts.

Small crowded tired hotel
We stayed here for 4 days. Hotel are shows an excessive wear - very tired. Staff are too busy to help customers, little ignorant. Breakfast buffet is ok, but no more than that. Hotel located in kind of sad area. Would not recommend this place

Pros: 1. Very good breakfast spread. 2. Very nice shower and bathroom. Cons: 1. We stayed in the family room. It is supposed to room 3 adults and 1 child. The bunk beds in it are very uncomfortable. 2. The family room is located next to their party room. We were there over new year's eve and there was a very loud party next door for most of the night. 3. Room is very small.

Off season in Montecatini Terme
Off season travelers should be advised that there is no A/C available at this hotel in October, even if the temperature is well over 25C! It was hot and difficult to sleep. Not breeze from the open window either. Location is OK and street parking was ample (off-season). Hotel was a bit difficult to find by car due to one-way streets.

Good hotel for its purpose
Hotel is not too far from the main square/street. The addition of free bikes is fantastic as it's a nice ride around Montecatini and no place is really too far. Breakfast was okay.

What a lovely place! The town is adorable and the hotel was very nice, clean, and in an excellent location. They even had bikes for us to use to explore the town and were very accommodating in general. Will definitely stay here again if in the area. We chose to stay here while we visited florence and pisa, partly because it is accessible to both, partly because you get far better value staying outside of these popular destinations. This was my favorite stay during our trip! Definitely recommend staying here.

Very Nice Hotel
We stayed here because it is conveniently located between Florence and Pisa and is only a few blocks from the train station. We took the train to Florence rather than drive and deal with parking.The staff was very nice. They took it upon themselves to give my daughter a surprise birthday cake, without us asking. The dinner for 18 Euro was very good, especially for the value. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Montebello again.

Great Hotel!
Fantastic hotel, clean, modern bedroom & bathroom. Great breakfast with plenty of variety and good coffee! Central location close to shops and ten minute walk from the railway station no noise in the evening as the road is shut off to traffic overnight. Would have liked coffee making facilities in the room after a hard days walking but would definitely stay again.

The worst and hostile service we ever experienced
We are very disappointed at the service of this hotel. We checked in the hotel in June 2013. The receptionist had no smile and already looked impatient. We went in our room and it was very hot. We tried to turn on the Air Condition but could not. We called the desk and the same receptionist answered the phone and told us that AC cannot be turned on unless it is hot enough. We told her that the thermometer in our room was showing 28.5 C (83F), that was hot. We can't believe her answer. She said it was not 28.5 C OUTSIDE! She refused to turn on the AC. We went downstairs and talked to her again. Her attitude was so bad and told us there was nothing she can do. We told her that when we booked the hotel, the website listed there are AC and it would be false advertisement if they won't turn on the AC. We were very upset but decided to go out and got something to eat. When we came back, the AC was on. We cannot believe that we had to go through to get this. That was not the end of it. We asked the receptionist to help us to book some locate tours which we picked up the brochures from the hotel. She again was very annoyed (she was the only one there who can speak decent English). She told us it was too late of the day to book any tour. We said the brochure stated that the office not closed until 10:00 PM and it was only 5:00. She was so rude & reluctantly called for us. We travelled a lot and this was the WORST SERVICE we ever received. We WOULD NOT recommend this hotel to anybody.

Good 3 star hotel
We stayed here for 14 nights as a base for travelling around Tuscany. One of the best 3 star hotels we have stayed in. Very clean, welcoming and friendly English speaking staff, even though we do try a bit of Itailien. Breakfast very good choice and only ate 2 or 3 times in the evening but this also was very good..

Our flight to Florence was cancelled due to an air traffic controller strike in Paris.On the website there was an area for contacting the hotel so I sent an email stating that we were unable to arrive until the next day. When we arrived at the hotel, we found the our email was not received and the room was not available . The staff was extremely efficient and found us an upgraded hotel. The woman in the reception area walked with us to the other hotel. Our only regret was that the breakfast did not begin to compare with the pictures of the feast served at The Montebello Hotel. We will have to return.

Breakfast food was usually cold, which should be hot. Staff not very friendly or helpful, they just seemed uninterested. If this was the number 1 hotel in montecatini, not sure i would stay in this town again for 7 nights.

Quaint and efficient
This hotel works well, especially the breakfast! Beware though that Oct - April is "off-season" and many hotels, restaurants and spas are closed. Great dining and shopping on the main street, even found a small laundromat right up the street. Be sure to take the public bus to Montecatini Alto for lunch.

Excellent choice for reasonable money.
Very good location. Great service. Even the breakfast was impressive in comparison to the standard Italian "coffee + something to feel the gaps in my teeth". Highly recommend to any type of the traveler. The only downside is the lack of free parking in the area but that is something to be expected all across Italy - when traveling one must include cost of parking which is rather dear.

We arrived late and tired from driving. My husband was 'niggly' and right off the bat started talking about the construction site opposite. Andrea was at the Front Desk and she reacted calmly and politely, but, she did make a point that we should check the room first. The Montebello had upgraded our room because of the construction and it was a super, comfortable room with a balcony. Breakfast was good and the location excellent.

Great location, walking distance from the spas, the main square, the trainstation. All staff were great except for the female on reception who wasn't helpful with anything happening in town. I asked about whether the horse racing was on one day as had heard it might be and said basically said no idea and can't help. The following day there was a huge cycling race and she told me that morning there was nothing happening in town. Disappointing, but luckily the rest of the service and facilitates made up for it.

good hotel near to town and trains.friendly helpful staff spoke good english.room clean beds a bit hard, small balcony that was nice to have, food was good and plentiful good value too, 18 euros per person for evening meal,overall a pleasnt stay in a good 3 star hotel.
