The bedroom was very nicely decorated with antique furniture. The ceiling was decorated in an unbelievable manner suitable for a cathedral. It was gorgeous. However. The bed was as hard as concrete. The pillows were as thin as towels. The bathroom was so tiny it was virtually unusable. Breakfast was meager. The elevator was completely ridiculous. I couldn't wait to leave this hotel.

It was ok but you can tell they refilled the soap bottles in the room with soap mixed with water, and the pillow were falling into pieces. The breakfast didn’t have much savoury (no eggs for example), very low quality bread and on Monday no fruit because “they don’t deliver it on sunday”. I mean it’s not that you are placed in the middle of nowhere. If they don’t deliver on su day go to a supermarket and buy some!

Good location
We had a delayed flight and arrived late, the reception was not very friendly or informative. We had 2 small rooms one had no working aircon. Breakfast was ok, but a lot of sweet options. The best thing about this hotel was its location

Not sure about value for money. Just ok
We were a bit disappointed by this hotel. We were thinking to stay in a old but charming hotel. In the end if wasn't the best experience. it was the most expensive hotel we had in Sicily and really not the best. 1. Bathroom : Big NO for us. As mentioned by other guest on Google review the bathroom is really small and outdated. Our shower head did not work properly, it did oblige us to get closer and closer to the wall. The bathroom need to be completely refurbished. Some part of the tiles were started to mold. However the water is really warm if it is what you like. 2. Our room was on a ground floor. With really bad isolation. Near a loud restaurant and street. Also near the reception. Other guest wasnt happy about his room situation ( which we understood). But on 4 night stayed we only slept properly once. We live in Mexico city not a village and we are used to the noise normally. Maybe with another room it would have been better. 3. Furnitures in the room : a refregirador was one of the bed table of the bed. We thought it was a bit weird but ok why not. Unfortunately it did not even work. Cupboard smelled bad. 4. Cleaning was done daily and really well. Big plus for the property 5. The location of the hotel is not so bad. Walking distance to the main streets if you don't mind walking 10 to 20 mins. 25/30 min to reach the train station walking. 6. The staff is nice, we did not speak much with them. Overall : its ok, but disappointed

The staff were very responsive when I asked for a different room due to it being very hot in the 4th floor room I was assigned. The front desk immediately changed my room to an empty first floor room. The area around the hotel is great, very accessible to everything you need and fairly quiet for Italy!

Hundred year old hotel boutique hotel in classy Politeama-Liberta district just N of the Via della Liberta and 1 km W of historic center. Surrounded by sidewalk cafes and bars. Within 15-30 min walk of two great theaters, markets, cathedral, many other sights. Close to buses (to beach!), bike and car rental. Serviceable room fridge, cramped shower. Generous breakfast buffet including cappuccinos buffet included in price.

This hotel was ok but we had a terrible room on the third floor. The room was hard to find, up some obscure narrow stairs, the bed was under a bulkhead so I walked into it, the bottom sheet did not appear to be clean, ’the window opened to a vent couldn’t even see the sky. A different room may have made the stay ok. As others have commented the breakfast is full or sweet stuff and the coffee terrible. If we had a different rooom this stay would have been ok

walking distance to major part of the city
This is a great place to stay while visiting Palermo. Its walking distance to the Port, along with major attractions. Restaurants surround the hotel so there is no problem with food and or drink. Good stores for shopping are also within walking distance. We actually booked the wrong hotel, but once we arrived we decided to stay, great choice on our part.

Better hotels in Palermo.
Our room was a good size, however, the bathroom was so small it seems they squeezed it in as an afterthought. The hairdryer was old fashioned and not very powerful so it took a very long time to dry my hair. The location of the hotel is pretty good but we arrived by car and it took over an hour driving around Palermo before we found it, despite directions from the hotel. The problem is there are no street names on a lot of streets and this, coupled with one way streets, made it difficult to find. On the plus side, staff were very nice and helpful.

Acceptable
It was cheap, and the room was very clean. However, my room didn't even have a window, just a vent which opened onto a noisy dusty courtyard, so there was no natural light and made for a very depressing and gloomy feel. The picture on expedia must refer to a larger suite, as the regular double room i had was far smaller than this. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. For visitors with long hair, I'd advise you bring your own hairdryer as it took almost 50min to dry mine with the hotels ancient one. Housekeeping do a thorough job, and the receotion is always staffed. They were pleasant enough, though not overly friendly, but this seemed to me a theme among hotel/restaurant/retail staff across Palermo, at least towards non-Italian speakers. The breakfast buffet includes a wide selection of traditional italian biscuits and pastries- far too sweet for me personally at 7am, but they also offer fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread and meat/cheese. I appreciated being able to at least sample a typical italian breakfast, even though it was not to my personal tastes. Overall, the hotel is okay, and a perfect location for sight seeing. The gloomyness may be offset if you are not a lone traveller, or if you have a bigger, upstairs room.

Good location, quirky
This is an older building so expect a small bathroom where they've fitted en suites later, and some noise as people move about on the tiled or marble floors. It's in the city so some traffic noise but not too bad. Lovely quirky interested characterful rooms. Great breakfast. Good locationand very good restaurants a stones throw away.

Nice and cozy but there were no free shuttles
When I booked on the website it gave the impression that there was free shuttle service to and from Hotel to the airport. But there were no free shuttles and there is 100 Euros back and forth to the airport. The staff were very nice and accommodating . The hotel architecture is amazing. The towels could be newer and whiter but they were clean. I enjoyed my stay

Basic but nice if you're a sound sleeper...
On the plus side this hotel is beautifully situated in a very central location. The staff are pleasant. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Breakfast is adequate. My single room was small and basic. It did have air conditioning, which was important in summer weather. The bed was not hugely comfortable but not impossible either. The worst part of it is that the walls are paper-thin, so that you can hear literally everything going on around you. If, like me, you're unlucky enough to have on the one side a couple who, after making love, have a conversation at the top of their voices at 3 am, while on the other side somebody is rearranging the furniture well into the night, then you're not going to catch much sleep. Add to that plumbing which means every time you flush the loo you get a roar like Niagara Falls (and the same, of course, when the rooms around you flush their loos) and the noise factor goes up a few notches. On balance I would say, if you're a light sleeper or not used to ear-plugs, avoid it. If you don't mind the noise, then the location alone makes up for a lot of the inconvenience

The room was extremely small and needed a deep cleaning. There was mold in the shower. The location was great for exploring the centre of Palermo. It is close to a lot of sites. Be sure to check you car if they park it for you. We had a scratch on our rental car that we had to pay for.

Joli good visitor base
The hotel is ideally placed for arrivals and departure by air. The airport bus stop five minutes from the hotel. It is then an easy walk to the centre of the town and train the station. There is also a bus. The rooms are spacious but in need of redecoration. The atmosphere is predominantly shabby comfort.

Not nice
Our welcome on arrival was off hand. The first room we were given had a cupboard for a bathroom and was facing a bar which had loud music till 2am. Next day we changed rooms. This room was bigger and quieter but again a very disappointing bathroom. It was much bigger but the silicon round the bath was about an inch thick and peeling and brown all over. It was disgusting. The towels were very thin and grey. We have stayed in many Italian hotels over the years and faded grandeur is common. This place was just faded! Breakfast was fine if you like cake and pastry. Oh and by the way, if you want milk with your cornflakes you have to approach the bar with your bowl of cereal and they pour it direct from the carton behind the counter. Can't understand why they don't leave it in a jug for you to help yourself. There were two SMALL lounges for sitting in but both were right outside of people's bedrooms and had no windows. Sorry but this hotel was extremely disappointing

Good location for Palermo
Our stay at Hotel Joli was a happy experience A shortfall being the light level in the guest accommodation- it was low especially in the shower room. The buffet breakfast was expansive but there was no fruit Juice or fresh fruit on offer- the cold drinks were of a squash type. During our visit the small bar was not open but this may be different in the busier months.

Great location and staff
Located on a beautiful square and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and gyms, Hotel Joli has become my favorite when visiting Palermo. Just a ten minute walk from the port, the hotel is also within a 20-30 minute walk from the Parco Inglese and most of the city's significant historical and cultural sites. The staff are extremely helpful.
