It was cheap, and the room was very clean. However, my room didn't even have a window, just a vent which opened onto a noisy dusty courtyard, so there was no natural light and made for a very depressing and gloomy feel. The picture on expedia must refer to a larger suite, as the regular double room i had was far smaller than this. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. For visitors with long hair, I'd advise you bring your own hairdryer as it took almost 50min to dry mine with the hotels ancient one. Housekeeping do a thorough job, and the receotion is always staffed. They were pleasant enough, though not overly friendly, but this seemed to me a theme among hotel/restaurant/retail staff across Palermo, at least towards non-Italian speakers. The breakfast buffet includes a wide selection of traditional italian biscuits and pastries- far too sweet for me personally at 7am, but they also offer fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread and meat/cheese. I appreciated being able to at least sample a typical italian breakfast, even though it was not to my personal tastes. Overall, the hotel is okay, and a perfect location for sight seeing. The gloomyness may be offset if you are not a lone traveller, or if you have a bigger, upstairs room.
