Beautiful cozy place
De Broeierd is a beautiful, large old farmhouse built into an interesting and very cozy hotel with a very good restaurant at one end and a lovely "bistro" at the other end. Large outdoor seating areas add to the comfort. The rooms (we had two-level rooms with balconies) are spacious and comfortable, beds very comfortable, but you should be able to climb the typically Dutch steep narrow stairs up to the sleeping area. Our rooms had a few minor glitches (door alarm started beeping intermittently for no reason, shower could have been cleaner), but all in all we loved our stay here (3 nights) and would definitely come back. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Not good. Room was not protected against noise, so moved to other hotel in the night. room in splitlevel which i do not like at all. Disaster stairs no light tight blending for the window no climate control Too expensive for no quality

Our friends decided to come for breakfast without having booked. The breakfast room was less than half full but were told by the staff that there was no capacity for extra diners. It was very odd our friends left to drive back to Amsterdam rather than stay and eat.

Great location for University of Twente
Really nice, traditional-style hotel located opposite the University of Twente. Large room with split-level - very comfortable and warm especially with the cold weather outside! Breakfast was good, buffet-style with a decent array of options. I had dinner in one of the hotel's restaurants and this was also pretty good. Staff all over were super friendly and helpful - especially when translating the Dutch menu for me! In terms of location, the hotel is less than 10 minutes in a taxi to Hengelo train station and a short bus ride to Enschede. There's not a lot near the hotel in terms of shops or facilities, but if you're visiting the University then it's a really short walk to the main gates and the bus stop is also nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Convenient location directly across from U of Twente. Clean basic rooms. Beds were comfy. Friendly staff & good restaurant. Terrible internet. No screens on windows so the mosquitoes were bothersome.

Great stay.
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very accommodating. I had a wonderful room that had both a bathtub and a shower. The reception staff were very helpful when I needed something to be printed. The bed was also very comfortable. The only negative was that the room did not have a big central light, so the room got quite dark in the evening.

great location, service could be better
Great location for the University of Twente, just over the road. Room was bigger than I needed, and on 2 levels, the bed is upstairs. Restaurant service was below average. Nobody gave me a menu, so I got my own. Once I chose they seemed to ignore me; guests who arrived after me already had drinks before they took my order. Salad arrived when I was halfway through my main course. Restaurant was almost empty when I arrived and they had 3 staff.

Quiet, relaxing, peaceful hotel
This hotel is a great place to say. It has a traditional Dutch charm with a modern and clean interior. The hotel staff were great, very friendly. The wifi and parking were also very good.

We arrived in the Kennis Park Train Station and the hotel was an easy 5 minute walk -even with some luggage. Check in was simple and the staff were very friendly. Transportation to downtown Enschede was simple with a bus stop in front of the hotel. All of our various requests were cheerfully accommodated - bike rental and luggage storage after checkout.

Highly recommended!
Excellent hotel, superb value for money. We needed a bed for the night on a schlep from Hook of Holland to Sweden and found the Hampshire hotel by chance, searching for the cheapest hotel. It is as good, or better, than many hotels costing twice as much. I would unequivocally recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks.

Charged too much and poor service
Hotel Broeierd charged Eur 40,- more then agreed. They charged me breakfast for 2 persons and I was alone & charged more for the room than agreed. Telephone calls and several emails regarding this issue were not answered. Room was very uncomfortable, cold and very basic. Do not expect any service for this hotel.
