Historic Oasis - just blocks from downtown Rockford

"How can a short review reflect all the charm of this stay? Really, you have to stay here to see for yourself.The house and property are picturesque. Over 150 years old, brick with refined accents, well-maintained, and in a beautiful historic neighborhood. A recently added little babbling waterfall flows into a koi pond, with a comfortable gazebo nearby. I started each day with a few quiet minutes there as I enjoyed the morning sun.The Maid's Quarters is small and quaint but gorgeous inside. Two upstairs bedrooms had comfortable beds that we got great sleep in. Downstairs has a cozy living room, kitchenette, and modern, tasteful bathroom with a tile/glass shower. Everything was clean, thoughtfully appointed, and well cared for.We also had the good fortune to meet the owners, Jeanine and Dylan. They were so nice, and their pride in helping guests feel at home was obvious. Their personal touches made our stay better, like the snack basket and the local events calendar that let my son add something fun to our itinerary: starting our Saturday morning off at Coffee & Cars. Communication was great, too, especially with our late arrival, and their local recommendations were wonderful.In short, we had a great stay. Being in easy walking distance of downtown, the river, the historic riverfront district, and multiple parks meant we could enjoy Rockford without constantly jumping in the rental car. We highly recommend the Maid's Quarters and hope for another chance to visit!"

"Our stay at the Sedona of Rockford was truly phenomenal. The property is beautiful, impeccably decorated, and incredibly comfortable. Every amenity is well thought out and intentional. The gardens are truly stunning. When we needed to communicate with the host, she was readily available and incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an incredibly unique stay, just off the beaten path!"

"My family of 5 stayed here for a week to visit family and friends. I grew up in this area of Rockford in the 80s/90s and it's pretty much the same. We chose this for the location being close to family, the kids could walk to Marsh Park to play soccer, sidewalks 100% of the way to Bloom playground. Nice walk to Edgebrook Farmers Market, Highcrest Gray's IGA and Great Harvest (and Possessions Consignment is a gem worth checking out!). The neighborhood across Highcrest (Hawthorn Hills) has some of the most beautiful homes in town - highly recommend a walk through to marvel at the variety of architecture styles and beautiful landscaping. And of course Anderson Gardens!Host thought of everything so we could focus on our visit. We never ran out of TP, paper towels, garbage bags or dishwasher pods. We had ample towels and plenty of hooks to hang dry after use. BONUS was washer/dryer to do a couple loads halfway through the stay - and no mildew/mold like other rental front loaders we've stayed in. Comfortable beds, soft rugs underfoot. Home was built in the 30s so you have old house quirks but it's clean...our socks weren't filthy after walking around on these floors (I don't know the last short term rental or hotel I have been in where I didn't want to burn our socks after our stay - IYKYK). All of these seemingly little things make a difference and allow one to focus on the reasons for their stay. Location, attention to details, cleanliness make it a place I would stay in again!"
