NEW for the 2025 season, all carpeting has been replaced with new LVP throughout, and the second-level deck boards and railings have all been renewed.

Offering 3,400 square feet and an oceanfront location, Off Duty is a place to relax and unwind. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, Off Duty is just a few steps from the water's edge. The ground level has good parking, a carport, covered entry, and access to the oceanfront pool with decking and furniture. The first-level game room has a pool table, a leather-furnished media corner with a TV, stereo, wet bar, full fridge, laundry nook, half bath, and deck access to the private hot tub and pool. On the second level, out of two oceanfront bedrooms, one is a main bedroom with a TV, deck access, and bath with tub/shower.

The furnished den has oceanfront deck access, TV, and WiFi. Bedroom two has two singles, a TV, and is close to a full hall bath with a tub/shower combo. Bedroom three is an oceanfront main bed with deck access, a TV, and a bathroom with a shower. Bedroom four has a double, bunk beds, and a TV. The huge upstairs great room is a classic with tall ceilings, a gas fireplace, an extra-large TV, a stereo, and a half bath.

Resort furnishings make for comfy living. The spacious deck includes deck furniture, a picnic table, and beautiful ocean views. The large kitchen has an island, stainless appliances, and ample dining with views of the ocean and Avon pier. The main bedroom five has deck access, a TV, and a full bath with a tub/shower combo. This is the place to book your next vacation and enjoy the spot that makes Off Duty so desirable and unique.

Things to Know
All new appliances for 2024 include a Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, and range.
The new and expanded pool deck area allows for more room for sunbathing at the pool!
Streaming services are available with guests' own accounts.
Guests will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on the weather.
The fireplace is available from October to April.

Off Duty is a great home for our fishing group. We bring 6-8 guys every year, and it is perfect location for everything. Improvements were made since our last stay in 2023, thanks for listening! Canā€™t wait to stay again in 2025!

We had everything we needed at this property- you couldn't beat the views and the hot tub and pool made this location top notch. We would recommend this house to anyone! Only things that could use a little improvement were the mattresses and the furniture, but those things were not a big deal with all the other positives this home offers.

Second time staying here and it was better than thef first time. Nice wide open floor plan with excellent views. New washer and dryer( last stay they didnā€™t work).. didnā€™t have much as far as pots ( wanted to make chili) stopped in at the office and they reimbursed us for the chili pot we had bought) great customer service.. There was some type or rodent running around in the walls ( could hear scratching ) but think thatā€™s the case with most houses.. hot tub latch cover was broken but not a huge dealā€¦ all in all this place is great and will definitely stay here again.

Location was awesome views from the deck and inside the house looking out to the beach and ocean were amazing. Even with hurricane Debbie, it was still awesome to sit inside and see the ocean turning. Everything we needed was equipped in the house plenty of room very comfortable. It was our first time back since losing a family member in 2016 and we couldnā€™t have asked for a better time. Pool and hot tub were used a lot. We had so much fun will be back next year.

Everyone loved the hot tub, pool, and easy, quick access to the beach for fishing and castle building! The kitchen was fully equipped but a Keurig coffee maker would have been an extra bonus :-). We appreciated having the linens provided. We will certainly put this house at the top of our list when we consider next year's vacation to the Outer Banks!

Perfect location. Nice views and wide open floor plan. Went for week of fishing and took minimal clothes because of the washer and dryer ā€¦ mid week attempted to do laundry and the dryer did not work so we had to dry our clothes outside ( thanks goodness for nice weather ). Rental company was notified so they could get the issue fixed for future renters and they said they would forward the issue to the operations manager. Never heard back.

The best feature of this house is the location - it was spectacular! We woke up to sunrise over the ocean every morning and the beach was never crowded. We also loved the layout of the house and that it has both a pool and hot tub. The kitchen has a very workable layout and tons of flatware, plates, mixing bowls and cookware. Appliances were all decent except the annoying dishwasher- the upper rack would roll out whenever the door was opened and the bottom rack came "off the rails" every time it was moved. Regardless, the dishes came out clean. Some of the mattresses need to be replaced as they have permanent "body troughs." We also had a day of heavy rain and one of the bedroom windows and a patio door in another bedroom were leaking badly. All in all though, I'd stay there again!

Overall, the house is pretty good. Decent bedrooms and common spaces. the dryer didn't work (no heat), and was not repaired despite us letting Vacasa know about it around midweek of our stay. The dishwasher needs to be replaced; it is literally falling apart and doesn't clean dishes well. If this house got some repairs, I'd book it again, but without repairs, I probably won't. As a fisherman, I'd also say that it needs a fish cleaning station added to it.

Have stayed in this house multiple times over the past 10 years, but it makes me sad to see the conditions getting worse. Owners really need to spend money on updating appliances and fixing the floor in the game room. You can hear the dryer running from the basement all the way on the third floor.

A really nice home to vacation at. All beds & furniture very comfortable. Only drawback is No info on how to use the various TVā€™s is the house. After 24 hrs. someone at Vacasa was finally able to help. For future use, I personally left the instructions on how to use main TV. Instructions would have been really helpful, otherwise a great stay. All the cookware & utensils were of good quality. Back next year!

The pricing is way out of control. Next year for the same week would be double what we paid this year. Last year the TV was not the best. This year the TV was 10 times worse. All internet with poor choice of news and financial channels.

Wonderful vacation home away from home! You canā€™t beat the view and waking up each morning to a beautiful sunrise on the Oceanfront! It was also close to stores and places to go out to as well. Great layout in this home. Loved the access to a bathroom and refrigerator for cold drinks on the first floor just off the pool deck! Nice new smarts tvs and comfortable furniture in this house. Kitchen was well equipped. Beautiful ocean views from the living room, dining room and kitchen. Plenty of outdoor furniture plus beach chairs and pool tools. Would definitely stay here again!

We totally enjoyed our stay at ā€œOff Dutyā€. This property provided everything a large family could hope for on vacation. It also has a hint of rustic charm but superior accommodations. The pool area is superb with considerable privacy. The views from the upper decks are breathtaking. This vacation home is a catalyst for creating wonderful family memories that will last a lifetime!

The house was the perfect size for 10 of us. It wasn't cramped at all and I liked the layout. Being right on the beach AND having the pool was a plus. It was nice having a second refrigerator on the ground level whereas the kitchen and living area was on the top floor. If you have bad knees or elderly people, probably not the best fit. A dumbwaiter would have been nice with no elevator. There were an exponential amount of trips up and down the stairs. The two things I was not crazy about is the one towel and one wash cloth per person. At least 2-3 would have been nice. It made for a lot of laundry. The other issue I had was the coffee pot. It must be at least 20-30 years old, the base plate is completely rusted, and it took about 20 minutes to brew a pot. That's a long time when you have 8-10 people waiting for coffee in the morning. We really enjoyed the house overall. Next time, we will bring our own linen and our Keurig machine.

This is our 2nd time at Off-Duty #10. We loved it so much we knew we wanted to stay again someday. The place has been upgraded a little, new flooring upstairs in the main gathering space. The house was super clean (impressive!) The pool and hottub clean and everything worked perfectly. The location is incredible, waking up to the ocean waves with coffee in the morning while setting on the top deck with your favorite people. My husband loves fishing from the pier and it's cool we can see him in the distance from the deck as he's fishing. The kids flew their kites, the surfers and board surfers were a blast to watch. The neighborhood street is small and quiet, the people of Avon welcoming and warm. We hope to be back again someday soon.

We happened to come into town the night before a norā€™easter storm hit. There wasnā€™t much to do on the Island the week we stayed due to the storm, however the pool table and hot tub kept 3 teenage boys and us adults occupied! The winds were so high and severe with the national weather conditions that houses went into the ocean, however we had no issues. Simply just a little shaking that knocked a picture down that ended up breaking. The company immediately got back to us and even offered to come clean up the glass. Everything you need besides food is in the enormous space! You wonā€™t regret renting this home!! Itā€™s absolutely stunning views are worth it even during a norā€™easter!!!

We had a wonderful time here!!! The house was well maintained and very clean at arrival!!!! The cleaning ladies were so nice and let us swim about back as we waited for them to finish! Thank had two families and had more than enough room!!! The hot tub and pool were amazing and well maintained !!!!! The view is one in a million.

We loved our stay at Off Duty! Beautiful views from every window, and the upper deck was where we spent every morning to watch the sun come up over the ocean. The pool was a huge hit, especially for the kids! Since the ocean in OBX is pretty rough, the pool was a nice way to stay cool and hang by the house when the kids were too tired to walk to beach. The house was very clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again!
