Pros: The facilities and the setting. Also the staff.
Cons: The beds were uncomfortable. And the shower was a bit weak.
Welcoming staff and good facilities. The food was excellent and the facilities around the hotel site were great for families. unfortunately the rooms were a little tired especially the bathroom. The beds were not very comfortable compared to other hotels in the price range we have stayed in. Also the shower did not give you that great wake up feeling .

Over-priced and feels like staff are under-trained

Posted 17-Aug-2017
Pros: For this type of hotel the food was definitely on the good side.
Cons: see above
Location: Good location for exploring the Highlands, Loch Ness, Inverness, Mash Tun 'whisky specialist' pub in Aberlour plus the Strathspey heritage railway.
We went with another family and had all expected much more of this hotel. The staff were well meaning and front desk was efficient but in general they seem under trained and stressed. I have no problem in a business making a profit, it's what they are there to do, but our overall feeling was that Hilton were over-charging for what they were offering and quite probably under-paying staff. It could be they simply need more staff, or better qualified staff (so much more training). On both days I ordered an omelette at breakfast: the first day I was told it would be 12 minutes but when I went back the cook had forgotten about it and it was a further quarter of an hour before it was finally ready. The second day I was told six minutes, when I went back it was not ready and I was told it would be six minutes, when I next went back again the person cooking was just finishing one for someone else and asked what I would like so had completely forgotten me and my order. Incredibly when I went back, she had just produced one for another customer and asked me what I wanted!!! I felt like exploding but there would be nothing gained and I felt that it was down to the management of the hotel not the lady trying her best. They have at least four burners but only one pan, I would think two or three more pans would make a big difference. They should either sort this out or stop offering omelettes. Incredibly there is no lift for getting bags between the ground and upper floors.

Family friendly hotel

Posted 17-Aug-2017
Spent two nights here for our daughters 4th birthday and also had our 2 year old son. The pool was good although kids pool closed for one day. There was a good soft play and games area for the kids. The family room was spacious however as there was no air conditioning, it was uncomfortably warm. The rooms were also dated and in need of upgrade. All in all I would return to the location however may consider a different hotel. The food was good however on both nights the staff added marshmallows to my sons ice cream after informing them on a number of occasions of his egg allergy.

Hotel is in a good position, staff all very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and could cater very well with coeliac son without any bother who had a great choice of food . Rooms are comfortable enough but could do with being modernised. Negative point is the cost of a glass of wine - £8.50!!

Lots to do for kids

Lovely hotel set in quiet grounds. Perfect hotel to stay with children as lots to do. Just watch if your child is over 10 even when booking half board for all you still need to pay for over 10's when eating.

Great facilities & great location

Posted 17-Jul-2017
Hotel staff & facilities & food great, excellent for families. Hotel, especially rooms need a revamp. Only complaint was family room a bit cramped, dated, far too hot, bathroom a bit smelly but clean, bed uncomfortable & horrendous noise from 5 am as generator/air con or whatever from kitchen area kicks in. Not a location for a restful, childfree break, but ideal for families.
