It's not the nicest property in town, but it's also not the most expensive either. I opted for the upsell option on a room with a view of the water and downtown for what I was told would be $20 a night. What they failed to mention is that excessive taxes and fees would also be tacked on to that $20 each night. To add insult to injury, the windows were filthy on the outside so the view was a bit tainted...
The property is nice, but seems to need some repairs. Accent pieces the display the room numbers were randomly either not lit up (like ours) or the whole piece of wood was just dangling off the wall. None of this was ever addressed the entire time we were there, as if that's just how things were going to be.
Our room had scene better days, with many scuff, scrapes, and peeling wallpaper in several places. In the end I am more than a little upset I paid an extra $80 for my 3 night stay on a room in such a state.
Location is decent, centrally located near lots of points of interest, making it easy to get out and walk to things.
Occupancy was low when we were there and it would have been nice to have been offered the upgrade for free as a way to secure loyalty, but I guess they don't think like that.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. Considering moving my bookings away from Hyatt and going in the direction of Kimpton or Hilton.
