When we questioned this, she gave us a much large
The girl at the desk when we checked in was totally confused about our reservation. She told my husband that she had found it and when I went in to get more information on the room she asked me to pay for it. After 30 minutes she finally figured out the problem and gave us a room key. I had signed up for a superior double room and she originally gave us a room just big enough for the bed. When we questioned this, she gave us a much larger room that was what I thought I had ordered. She apologized profusely but it was not a real pleasant experience.

Great hotel in Arendal
The Grand Hotel has a super location - 2 minute walk into the center of town. Staff are super friendly and the complimentary soup each evening is a nice touch. We will definitely be back.

3 nights in a broom cupboard
I booked a budget single room so I knew it was going to be small, but how small can a room in a decent looking hotel really be? The answer is ' a lot smaller than you think!'. I've looked again at the photos on the hotel website but they don't convey quite how cramped it actually is. There is no headboard on the bed so I put the chair between the bed and the window to stop the pillows falling off whilst I slept. Your clothes have to go onto 3 hangers which live on 2 wall hooks over the bed The shower room was similar tiny; luckily I'm only 5'7" so I could sit on the toilet without squashing my face against the opposite wall but I pity any six footers who stayed there. There is also a step running across the floor of the shower room, but with the tiles being all the same dark green pattern it could not be seen. Even when I knew it was there I still managed to twist my foot on it or trip over it in a momentary lack of concentration. The rest of the hotel is fine; nicely decorated with a nautical theme, with friendly staff, reasonable breakfast and light evening meal (soup and various salads). I hope the 'normal' rooms are good because these budget rooms let the hotel down very badly.

Quiet, convenient and recommended
We are two adults who went to attend a jubilee a few kms outside the town. The hotel was conveniently located, in a quiet part of the town - even on a saturday night - and close to the railway station as well as the downtown taxi stop. This town is much, very much in fact, busier during the summer season, so please note that this reports pertains to the winter - off-season - season.

Very nice boutique Hotel right in the center
I was on a cruise and since I was in Norway already decided to extend my trip to Arendal my father's home town. Wow this hotel was wonderful from the minute we got there the Front desk and all employees welcomed us it was already in the afternoon and they include a light super this was a full delicious super we couldn't believe it and on the morning a wonderful breakfast with everything you could want . I highly recommend this Hotel to everyone . The staff the Hotel was just up to par in everything . Thank you from the sisters that went to visit there great grandmothers grave and my father's town . Will be back again Rosemarie

Our stay in Arendal
Nice and calm stay. Kind and service minded staff. The price was also good and included breakfast and supper. The hotel is located only 3 minutes from downtown/centrum with many restaurants and by the sea.

Maritime for business.
I stay here sometimes on business for a couple of nights at a time. The rooms are small, in fact the cheapest rooms are unbelievably small. The staff are all friendly though, and the place is clean and tidy. The food is also very good. The wifi is probably my main annoyance there, as it is rubbish.

Arendal Maritime Hotel review
I only took a short stay, i arrived in the evening and checked out the following morning, I was greeted with a warm welcome and checked in without an issue.

This is beautiful little place with great staff and two meals a day included. An 1880 building nicely decorated with ship fittings. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel as Always
Great hotel, regularly stay here when visiting Arendal, nice friendly staff and pleasant rooms. Close enough to walk to ferry and all restaurants/bars/shops. Parking close by.

The room had no AC and with a window to a road we kept it shut which meant the air got very stale and warm. Otherwise the room was fine, bathroom nice, service ok and the breakfast very good.

Arendal Maritime Hotel
One of the few available hotels in Arendal is nice and cozy. The atmosphere is relaxed and the location is central. Service is friendly and breakfast extensive. Only problem with the hotel is that it is situated along the main road to the city's bus terminal. Closing the window does not entirely block the noise and keeps the heat in.

Sjarmerende hotell.
Veldig fint hotell med hyggelige og sjarmerende rom. Litt slurvete renhold (det lå igjen en tannpirker på badegulvet, bodylotionen var brukt og den ene koppen var skitten), og det tok litt tid før mat ble fylt på under kveldsmat og frokost, men dette er egentlig småprik. Veldig sentralt med parkeringshus ved siden av. Anbefales.

Helt greit
Dusjen hade litt varierende varme ur kran. Dårlig termostat ? Vi hade rom 210. Og dusjdraperi som sugs inn i ryggen når man dusjer er 1970 tall. En glassdør er på sin plass. Ellers var alt helt ok. Jo, det mangler strømuttak for at lade mobilen på ene sengebordet.

Familierom
Møkkete rom med grus/støv i hver eneste krik og krok. Får den følelsen av at man ikke vil gå i sokkelissen på rommet. Det er ingen varme på badet så når man omsider får rommet kaldt så er badet enda kaldere. Fugemasse i mellom flisene mangler på visse steder. Flekkete soffa. Personalet smiler og er hyggelig. Det stod kveldsmat var inkludert ved booking gjentstte ganger, men det var det ikke uten noen mere forklaring
