I purchased 3 rooms for our stay in Augusta last week. I first felt unsafe due to the slide lock receptacle being non existent on the door. I then felt grossed out by the clumps of hair in the shower and sink drains clogging both. Then grossed out again by the holes in the wall. Then grossed out again when I saw cockroaches coming out of said holes on the second night. My friend was bitten by bed bugs on the second night. He was bitten 4 times on his right shoulder, 3 times on his chin, and once on his forehead. They made him take his shirt off at the front desk to provide proof, in front of a lobby full of people. I informed the front desk of the situation in the rooms I had purchased, and asked for a refund for the remaining nights. She asked me for proof of the issues, to which I referred to my friends fight with the bed bugs, then the cockroaches in my room. We booked rooms at a different hotel for the remainder of the stay. I have not received a refund for my stay from the Budgetel inn, and was never called back by the manager to follow up on the complaint. The whole time I spoke with the manager, she made me feel like it was my fault, and I had done something wrong. She actually said at one point in the conversation “why did you not notice this sooner?” How do you even answer that?
