We loved the gym, sauna, steam room and pool. The room was huge and the staff were great. We were a little underwhelmed by the food but everything else was brilliant.
Overall a nice Hotel with pool, spa & gym. However the bar facilities were poor with a very limited selection of basics i.e. no blended whiskies or brandy selection ..
Breakfast was again limited.. the toaster only done one side.
The scrambled eggs were however excellent.. and jam was a tablespoonful plopped in a bowl.
Not what I expected of a 4 **** hotel though.. the staff were always helpful and friendly.. we paid 4*** price and got 2.5 **
The room was relatively clean .. although the armchairs and carpet were stained.. The toilet failed to flush properly..
Keavil House is a beautiful building that makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere whilst actually being close to amenities. Plenty of parking including disabled parking right by the door.
Our room was spacious, with great views of the courtyard and mostly quiet. (Staff were lovely going to talk to some noisy neighbours) However we didn't have hot water for 2 days of our trip, the toilet seemed to constantly fill with brown water and the phone either didn't work, or no one bothered to ever answer. I'd go with the former as my partner called from her mobile and managed to get through first time. Upon telling staff they were apologetic and sent someone to deal with the water issue although this did take another day before it worked.
The pool and spa are again beautiful with plenty of changing rooms and showers. During our trip however the spa was closed and the hot tub was out of order. Also if you are disabled and need help getting changed from someone of the opposite sex you'll have difficulty with separate changing rooms and no disabled room. Facilities within the changing rooms are adequate though.
If I had booked a cheaper hotel then my stay would have been fine. For a 4 star and relatively expensive hotel (compared to some of our other options), unfortunately we weren't satisfied with our stay and would choose somewhere else in future.
Excellent customer service. Dealt efficiently with all of our requests. Will definitely be back.

This is a lovely place to stay, tho they do need to be more on-tip of simple maintenance items. My shower was the only negative and this can be simply remedied. I still recommend this hotel.
Overall great stay, accommodation was comfortable, room was too hot though, and couldn’t open a window?
Also hardly any Croissants at breakfast, could do with more pastries.
One note that guests should be told that there are classes which take place in the swimming pool, we weren’t made aware of this, and had to cut our time short.
The hotel was rather nice and the room was a very good size and had lots of comforts. I found the bed a bit uncomfortable for me. Food in the restaurant was good.
Well the hotel was ok on average,
But the restaurant was very poor
Poor service. Poor menu .
Om one night i went to dinner. Asked to wait 15 minutes for a table, but there was plenty available to sit at straight away
Was forgotten about. Not even ask if i wanted a drink while i was waiting. Walked out of the bar area after 40 minutes, and went elsewhere for a takaway .
My previous stay was pleasant, but i wont be back

Not great.
This hotel needs a good overall update, very dated. Bathrooms are so old.
Staff were polite and professional, check in was quick as we did most of it online beforehand, plenty parking, room was spacious and bed was very comfortable, restaurant setting and food were both lovely. Pint of Heineken was only £5.25 and my partner said it was very nice!

So So place to stay
Staff was unpleasant at Check-in and checkout. I requested an iron but never received it. Slow internet.
We booked as we were married at the hotel 26 years ago & wanted to visit around our anniversary. Our room was lovely and very big with a huge en-suite which had both a bath & a walk in shower. There were patio doors with direct access to the lovely gardens.
We used the leisure complex which was very nice, pool, jacuzzi and steam room.
We ate in the hotel and the meals were excellent and as the staff knew it was our anniversary we had complimentary Prosecco.
overall very good but put off having breakfast as when booked for first try was told 7a.m. was not available and had to book 6:50 or 7:10 Just felt had to be there regimented time! Rather than relaxed sometime between 6:30 and 9a.m
Therefore did not book again.

Lovely hotel
Lovely stay This hotel. Set in beautiful grounds. Dinner at night was lovely, and nice breakfast the next day, although it could have been warmer. One negative, these bathrooms do need upgraded. Not a great shower and a very tight space due to a very small bath.
First the positives. Dinner was excellent with a good portion size. Breakfast was similar to most hotels with a cold buffet but the hot was cooked to order, so better. Our room had a door into the gardens which were a pleasant stroll. And we were directed on a nice walk in the nearby woods. The pool area was clean and a good size. The bed was large and comfortable.
Unacceptable cleanliness in the bathroom was promptly rectified by a member of staff, thank you Chrissy. If only that was all I would have been happy. There was only 1 mug, the phone didn't seem to work and we could hardly have been further from reception. Breakfast serivce left a lot to be desired. Day 1 we waited almost 20 minutes to order food -- I had to speak to someone. Day 2 a similar situation but this time with our tea -- again I had to speak to someone after a 10 minute wait.
We were there for my great neice's wedding and the venue, the staff and the food were superb. A wonderful place for a wedding which I would highly recommend. A beautiful place for Hugo and Emily to start their married life.
