"The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well. The pension is quite nice, super...

All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful."

"Room was very clean the included breakfast was very good fresh made eggs to order not a lot of gluten free options. Front desk was very helpful, we needed a later checkout and they took great care of us. I left something behind 2 weeks prior to this stay and they had it in lost and found. The staff (Anne was a pleasure to meet) was very helpful and available to assist in questions and suggestions to enjoy the island. Sublime is in a central location on the island away from Papeete making a restful and quiet retreat perfect for a relaxing vacation. We would definitely stay here again."

"Great little spot where you have privacy and share common areas like kitchen, bathrooms, showers. The host was helpful and friendly. The pool was great. Peaceful place. We stayed one afternoon-evening before catching our red eye flight back to Hawaii. It was a nice spot to take a nap, enjoy the pool, and freshen up. Would like to go back and check out the tree house! Maybe next time :)"

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Atimaono?

While Atimaono is a small commune, the best time to visit the wider Windward Islands of French Polynesia, which includes Tahiti where Atimaono is located, is generally during the dry season, from May to October.During these months, you'll experience pleasant temperatures and less humidity, with more sunshine and less chance of rain interrupting your plans. This makes it ideal for enjoying the outdoor activities and natural beauty of the area, from exploring the lush landscapes to relaxing on the beaches. While the dry season is popular, the shoulder months of May, June, September, and October often offer a good balance of good weather and fewer crowds.Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find this period great for enjoying quiet moments by the lagoons, sunset cruises, or exploring the island's natural attractions without the heavier downpours that can occur in the wet season. The clearer skies also make for excellent star-gazing opportunities in the evenings. For those interested in outdoor adventures, the dry season provides the best conditions for hiking in the interior, diving or snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters, and visiting local plantations.
