"Kinda pricey but hotel staff made up for it nicley"
Overall it was an OK stay. I had a noise complaint that caught me off guard due to the fact my company and myself were calmly laying down tuned into the TV and communication devices. So there must have been some misunderstanding on were the noise was coming from I didn't appreciate feeling like I had to walk on eggshells in fear I would loose my $50 deposit that I was not aware of until after the fact.
We were in town for a wedding @ Pomar Junction. This is in all sense a no frills hotel. But if you need a place to stay for a few days & aren't much in the hotel itself, this is your place. Front office was awesome. We were able to check in really late! And got our extra towels asap. Beds are not too bad. And it's the cheapest place around.
The room was clean and bathroom had been updated recently but some lighting and temperature control switches didn't work. Our room was comfortable and the location was very good. Not a bad overnight stop over. Would consider staying here again.

Lovely place at the crest of a hill. Comes complete with its own rambunctious unicorn. Clean, well stocked. Be careful of all the deer on the roads coming in and out though! We saw more wildlife along the roads here than even the zoo. Be aware there are dogs and cats and chickens -- it is probably good if you like animals.
Note: we had an issue with Expedia where Expedia allowed an invalid reservation. We tried to adjust it several times via Expedia but the idea of simply shifting the trip dates by a day somehow could not be grasped by the Expedia staff. Finally, the site proprietor Amie just took care of it on her end. Expedia never did figure it out after attempts from both ourselves and Amie. Unbelievably stupid. Just take a care when you reserve and if there's any issue call Amie first and save yourselves a headache.
Once a colony founded as the utopian vision of Golden Age magnate E.G. Lewis, the mid-sized city of Atascadero celebrates its heritage each July during the Colony Days Festival. Visitors can see rare species up close at Charles Paddock Zoo, or travel 17 miles west to the spacious sand beaches at Morro Bay. The city is also 1 hour from Hearst Castle, the dream of another Golden Age media magnate.
