Had a fantastic first stay at the ibis Rotherham. All staff were very friendly and easy going. nothing was to much trouble. The bed was very comfy just what you need after a tiring journey. Will certainly stop there again. Ps. I don't think the staff from the manager down get enough praise for the job they do.

Staff were great, a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room/s however could definitely do with a proper clean and some maintenance. A chair wouldn't go amiss either.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel as a means to break up long journeys. Late check in is really useful and staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean and the beds are really comfy. Great shower.

Cost effective stay with brilliant staff.
Excellent reception staff (Jo) and wonderful room. Pet friendly which doesn’t cost the earth so a nice little find. Rooms have all the basics and are warm and clean.

Such helpful and friendly staff
After the hotel had been closed for some time it has now been upgraded and decorated . After hitting a pothole nearby and damaging a tyre the staff Debbie and Carol could not have been more helpful in assisting me to find a mobile tyre repair company to fix the problem.

I had been moved to a different hotel for reasons unknown. Ibis were very apologetic for this. Reception staff at hotel I stayed in were very cheerful, friendly and helpful. Hotel room was rather shabby but was clean and bed was comfortable.

Not the greatest experience
I use Ibis a lot as they are convenient, and not too expensive. This one was disappointing as I had no sheet on my bed, just a mattress topper (I was too tired to complain after a long drive), and the overall room decor was tired and in need of a freshen up. The trim on the wall was peeling off by the bathroom door, and the shower was very poor; no power and limited spray . (I felt like throwing a bottle of water in the air and standing under that would have been better) The breakfast was fresh, but limited, and just felt a bit tired All in all, I was disappointed with this hotel, and it's unlikely I would choose to stay here again. Staff were very friendly though.

Very disappointing
Very noisy though should have expected being neat M11. Room had a old stale odour with a sewage issues!! Whenever you either turned on the taps or flushed the l9o it absolutely reeked into the whole room. Carpet was horrible and well worn with no comfort under feet Bed mattress has a topper ..very uncomfortable and though the bedding was clean the quilt itself was dirty!!

Our hotel room had a collection of short and curly hairs around the base of the toilet, the bedside tables had dust on them and when I wiped the the side where the kettle sits with damp toilet paper it came up with black bits on it. The room smelt of smoke (it’s a non-smoking hotel) and we could see cigarette butts on the roof outside the window. Overall very unpleasant and we won’t stay there again. The reception staff were lovely but there was only so much they could do.

Minor niggles were frustrating
Only had one tea bag in my room and breakfast staff were rushed off their feet - I asked for gluten free bread and they never got back to me - gave up in the end. No bin in the bedroom only in the bathroom. Key cards didn't work very well.

It was fine
Was fine for a quick overnight to brake up a long journey, but hotel is a bit dated and showing its age. Also not sure how well the rooms are cleaned as the body wash bottle in the shower was empty and there was a races ticket from days before under the bed so it has not been hovered very well.

Basic stay, good value
Basic overnight stay to break up the driving on a long trip. Conveniently just off the motorway, but that does mean you can hear the motorway traffic as it picks up in the morning. Room a little tired but basically ok. Good price for what we got. Impressed to get parking near the reception as we turned up quite late (after 11pm). Front doors closed at 10pm but staff soon ran to let us in (and a mobile number to call was provided).

Bathroom sink stank of ritten drains every time tap run. Toilet seat at pubic hair and urine stains on thr seat. Chewing gum stuck to headboard. Kids racing around in carpark across road. Not sure but might have been a line dance class in the room above from 10.30 till 11.30pm. Judging by all the banging.
