"There was a slight confusion with the room allocation, which the reception staff on Friday evening rectified with consideration and courtesy. The room was prepared to a very high standard. Our stay was for two night's (bed/breakfast). The buffet style breakfast was to a very high standard, fresh and hot. All the hotel staff were courteous, polite and deticated to delivering a perfect customer experience. Would recommend this hotel very highly. "

"I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this is by far the best, helpful, friendly and professional staff, room spotless as expected. The facilities were also very nice, the spa and restaurant were exceptional. But the biggest thing is the historic building itself, what a place, will !00% be returning when we need a country escape!"

"The room was a great size with good facilities including a sofa area with desk and a large TV. Nice White Company amenities in the bathroom. I particularly loved the teapot and lovely selection of teas and coffee bags (rather than nasty instant coffee sachets). The only downside was that despite having several lamps the room was way too dark. There's no ceiling light and all of the bulbs in the lamps are warm white and not particularly bright, and covered by heavy lampshades, so they're not particularly effective even when they're all on. I raised two issues with the hotel and they were efficiently dealt with before I got back from work on the same day. Every single staff member I met was friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. The gym is modern and well-equipped and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised when comparing it to the standard of most hotel gyms. There's a retail park less than a minute minute drive away with various food options and shops. The breakfast spread includes cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, and a cooked hot breakfast. It was great that I was offered the chance to have eggs freshly poached for me or avocado on toast freshly made. I went with poached eggs on toast and it was done perfectly. I didn't use the bar but from the outside it looked warm and inviting, and well-stocked. I would certainly visit this hotel again, especially for what I consider to be a very reasonable price. "
