"Clean and spacious accommodation in nice setting"
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment for a long weekend in October. It was a good choice, having never been to Portugal before. Easy to find, just look for the supermarket and turn right (good place to stock up on food for the stay). The reception for the two-bed apartments was closed but we were directed to the main reception which was open. There is a little café there too, and an outdoor pool for both sections. It is set in spacious grounds with plenty of open space and leisure areas. The apartments are very nice, modern and spacious, well equipped and clean. It is in a good location, close to the sea and beaches, the nearby town of Armaco de Pera and the main N125 road and A22 motorway. There is plenty to see and do nearby, but a car is useful to get around. We hired a car at the airport. Restaurants and supermarket within walking distance. However, the TV remote control didn't work, neither did the replacement one they gave us. There is no washing up liquid or cloth and only one small bar of soap is provided. Hooks on the back of the bathroom and bedroom doors would be useful and a chair in the bedroom. No room service on Sundays. No free Wi-Fi in apartments, only in reception.
Just reiterating previous comments. Lifts not working for a whole day, breakfast missing ingredients / utensils. Internet down for hours at a time. In fairness the price was probably in the right ball park. Just don't expect excellence.
The apartment was clean and comfortable however we were not able to use the kitchen but were provided with a microwave and a kettle. This meant that cups and plates had to be washed in the bathroom! Another thing is that the reception area for check in is only open between 2pm-6pm so you would need to make arrangements if your plane was late. Otherwise it was a pleasant and clean place to stay with a verandah.
Armação boasts one of Portugal's longest beaches. Soft pale sand slopes to a sparkling clear blue sea, framed by stunning rocky cliffs. Enjoy the catch of the day at a waterfront café, sample lively bars and clubs, or escape to Old Pêra, the tiny hillside village with its 17th century fort and cobbled streets, for a romantic starlit supper. Sea Life and water parks are very close by for days out.
