Our room was comfortable and roomy, clean . . . everything we could've asked for! It was convenient to everywhere we were going, only twenty minutes from downtown DC. We'd stay again in a heartbeat . . . and we will, in the spring!!
The hotel room was clean. The mattress seemed to have a plastic cover on it that "crackled" when I sat on it. I must say it didn't bother my night's sleep. The hotel is obviously an older establishment but they have done a nice job of keeping it clean. It was not really close to an amenities that I could see.
So, if you are in need of a place to sleep at a reasonable price I'd recommend the Inn of Rosslyn.

Nice hotel. Rooms are large and clean. As far as clean, the only thing I noticed was splatter marks on the kitchen walls above the counters, and the kitchen cabinets appeared to need wiping down. The same thing on the bathroom walls. I'm sure the streaking was due to hot showers with no fan in the bathroom. But the red paint, in the kitchen and bathroom accentuates the streaking. This happens to be a pet peeve of mine, so it might not bother you. Everything else appeared to be clean.
Metro provides convenient access to D.C., with little switching as the Orange and Silver lines took us to all the DC attractions. Metro about two blocks away. However, it is uphill, if you are planning on taking the metro to Reagan National with suitcases I would, and did take a cab. Cab fare from Hotel to Reagan was about 15.00 not including tip. Several places to eat within walking distance, and a nice AMC theatre near Courthouse.
Room was updated. Buffet breakfast included in the price., we had a kitchen in our room not sure if that is with all rooms. Fair selection of food on buffet, eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. One day we had french toast, the other day was waffles. There was also cereal, and breads, think there might also have been either grits or oatmeal. Buffet was not as large as Embassy Suites or some other similar place, but of course you are not paying that price either!
Staff were all friendly and helpful.
