After staying down the hill in Kobe for a week, Arima was a magical retreat. The hotel has multiple private bathing rooms, each with two tubs, different waters in each tub, and traditional onsen squat showers.
The rooms were reasonably sized with somewhat hard but comfortable beds. A very Japanese experience.
An easy day trip from Kobe or Osaka, Arima Onsen is one of Japan's premier hot springs resorts, dating back over 1000 years. Infused with natural minerals, Kinsen (gold water) and Ginsen (silver water) relax stressed muscles and relieve aching joints. Around town, visitors will find public bathhouses as well as traditional inns with hot springs facilities.
