First, I would encourage anyone who likes old-style European hotels, beautifully maintained, in great locations, to consider the Paradors Chain of hotels. We didn't know about them prior to our last visit. If we had, we'd have booked nothing else. This Parador is an especially good one. Sitting on the side of a cliff in a medieval town, it has spectacular views in a perfect setting. Built in 1965, the hotel has much old-world charm.

Hotel was nice, great location at the top of this small hill town, incredible views. The problem was that parking was in a public garage outside of town. We should never have driven up to the hotel. Because of construction in front of the hotel there was really no place to even unload the car. We should have been instructed in advance to park in the garage and walk up to the hotel. The walk from the garage up to the hotel was a fairly strenuous 10-15 minutes, but doable. We did not know ANY of this when we arrived and found the desk person less than helpful and was very frustrated by the whole experience.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location and views. Room is slightly tired but was clean and well appointed. Massive bathroom. Good on restaurant was disappointing- had pasta and didn’t really enjoy it. Partner not keen on his either. Breakfast was nice. Staff friendly and helpful. We loved Arcos.

Parador de la Frontera deserves its fame.
It was amazing. The staff contacted us ahead of time regarding the directions to the Parking, and even called us a taxicab to take us to the hotel. My suggestion to everybody is to go enjoy the stay in Room 20. It was an amazing experience with the amenities as we have home. The views from the terrace were breathtaking and the service was excellent. By night, even better. In conclusion money well spent. No regrets. We will do it again.

Good: Great hill top location with a couple good restaurants at a short walking distance. Impressive hilltop views from restaurant patio and some room balconies. Great patio for coffee, tea and pastries. Cons: Terrible parking situation not well communicated or dealt with by management. Absurdly over-priced and unimpressive breakfast option. Don't go for it - eat on the street instead!

This is an unforgettable experience. The views from the Parador are incredible, the little historic white town is like from a movie. Try to pay for an upgraded room with terrace and great views (room no 17 or 19). The wonderful lady at reception is glad to help/advise you

Not as fine as I would have expected but very clean. Breakfast is Very nice. But dinner was so-so. the view from the dining room and outdoor patio is incredible. Biggest fluffy towels. the drive up is through extremely narrow steep streets

We stayed here for two nights on our trip and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The Parador is located at the very top of the town and has a commanding view of the countryside from its restaurant, terrace, sun deck and some of the rooms. We opted for one of those balcony rooms and it was a wonderful choice. The room itself is large and well appointed. Large bathroom and great storage. We both found the beds a tad too hard for our sleeping preferences, but the view when you woke up was more than worth it as a tradeoff! Reception and service was outstanding the whole time. Cabs are easily reserved to get up/down to the central newer part of the city where the bus station is located. We don't recommend trying that walk if you have any kind of luggage -- probably 30 minutes straight up hill! In terms of location you are at the top of the hill and at the center of the historic town so everything is within walking distance -- up and down the hills. Definitely be ready with good walking shoes in this town! There are some wonderful alleys and small streets on both sides of the town center to walk through and explore and get a sense of this White Village as well as a long trail (11km) that is available at the base of the hill that follows the river.

The location is spectacular - we booked a superior room and had views out over the valley from our balcony. The property is filled with antiques and beautifully decorated. We had half board and the evening meal was very good. The receptionist was very helpful - we arrived early but our room was ready and we were able to get paid parking in the square through the hotel (maximum 2 hours if you pay at machines.) The only thing missing from our room was soap! A small bar of soap would have been useful! Be warned, the roads in Arcos are very narrow and the arches which take you into the square are very tight - our VW Polo was fine (though breathed in) but some of the wider car drivers looked quite nervous. the locals are obviously used to it and were quite patient. We expected there to be little in the village, but there are cafes, bars and small shops. All in all, a lovely experience and highly recommended.

Such a great location in the heart of the city a bit unerving driving in especially relying on GPS get there early to get parking in the plaza. Avoid the seafood pasta or should we call it chef boreide sauce with 1 shrimp and a mussel thrown in for color. Staff and facilities are great better to eat out other than the breakfast

It was up a hill almost impossible to drive to so we had to park below and trudge up hill ten minutes or so. Enjoying restaurants other than the hotel's was a walk we didn't want to take.

A gem in an enchanting Pueblo Blanco
Our stay at Parador Arcos de la Frontera was wonderful. The location could not have been better, at the very top of town, next to the main church, city council and a castle. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and getting there, through very narrow and steep cobblestone streets is in itself an experience. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome and provided helpful tips regarding dining and parking. Parking at the hotel can be frustrating but totally outside the hotel’s control given its location. The hotel is not fancy but it certainly is charming. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and satisfying.

If you like small(ish), rural towns you’ll love Arcos. After the (relative) bustle and crowds of Ronda, we were charmed to encounter the slower pace and natural beauty of Arcos. We hiked, enjoyed the wildlife, and even ate some of our best meals here. The Parador is a throwback to a different era with aged - yet spacious - rooms, all with some sort of view. The patio is breathtaking and the staff is wonderful. One of our favorite Parador experiences.
