"Excellent location comfortable hotel Poor service"
Pros: This hotel is brand new and just recently opened. It looks new and the pool/bar area are quite nice. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have a balcony. The bed was quite comfortable and the rooms are bright. Biggest pro is the location. 5 min walk to Ao Nang beach and all the bars/restaurants in the center point of town.
Cons: The water in the shower/sink randomly goes cold or very hot. There is a weird smell in the bathroom. When we were checking out, they charged us for using mineral water from the mini fridge. We told them we didn't use anything from the fridge (we didn't even look inside, apparently there's beer and things in there). Instead of taking us at our word (we paid thousands of baht for the room, why argue over 60THB for water if we used it?) a woman came over and basically yelled at us, asking us if we didn't use the bottle, then where did it go? It was completely rude and unprofessional and quite shocking actually. We repeated ourselves several times and when she left, they made us wait for over 40 min to check out. Finally I went up to the desk and asked to speak to the manager to ask what was taking so long and if they were still trying to figure out this ridiculous water bottle issue. The manager and the people behind the desk were very polite and told us not to worry, that if we said we didn't use the water, then we didn't use it. That was nice, but a bit too late. We asked them to hold our bags so we could rush to eat before we had to leave for
We had a great 5 days in our cabin by the sea. The staff was excellent. We were a fair way from the town of Ao Nang but taxi service was easy to get. We weren't brave enough to use the motorbikes.
The unfortunate part was the tide was out from noon till about 3:00. But we loved our quiet stay there.
The resort itself is quite nice, however I'd consider it a bit pricey considering breakfast wasn't included. The bathroom was quite old and the drains stink to high heaven. We did complain and staff gave it another clean plus burned essence to keep the smell away .
This former fishing village in central Krabi Province still retains some traditional charm. A 10-minute boat ride takes travellers to Railay Beach for rock climbing and snorkeling. Other day trip options include island-hopping cruises to outer islands such as James Bond Island from The Man with the Golden Gun.
