Nice staff and good location
The staff is very helpful but the night staff knocked on my door at 4 am .. mentioned that we had to check out.. very annoying I talked Austin at the front desk next morning who apologized,.Austin had been helpful and.nice, we went to Seward for two days and the hotel kept my suitcase for 2 days ..which was very nice.. location was good, I could walk to anywhere in downtown. yes I would come back again

The view was good and it’s a great location. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The TV was a little loose on the wall but other than that it was a great place.

You get what you pay for.
The Guest House is cheap and in an amazing location. You are paying for those. The elevator is broken and I had a 50lb suitcase to lug up 4 stories. Not enough towels and no soap or shampoo upon arrival. We had to walk down to front desk after it was obvious they weren't going to bring it up. Good location, no bedbugs. Seagulls and people talking in the courtyard are super loud. If you want more comfort, pay 20-40 bucks per night somewhere else.

I will be sure to forward your comments to our Housekeeping Manager as adequate shampoo, soap and towels were not provided. We do have staff on site that is always available to take your bags to your room or bring supplies if needed. I hope you will reconsider staying with us in the future so that we may show you that we pride ourselves on our cleanliness and great customer service.

I didn’t stay because there was no parking available. Several people walking around looking into vehicles and no active security. The front desk staff was very nice, but I was not comfortable parking where they suggested as a last resort but there was a No Parking sign and vehicle would be towed. I walked around the hotel looking for parking but I saw different people looking into vehicles. When the front desk guy walked with me t look for parking, a visitor waking her dog also said she saw people walking around peering into many cars. She said that people would just break in a steal stuff. I WAS NOT comfortable at all. So I lest and because it was after 11 pm, need up just parking in a business and sleeping in my truck.

I stay here from time to time because its walking distance of most of downtown. Its older but its clean and comfortable.

Outside and location was a bit scary, but it actually was clean, close to railroad station. We are glad we choose the Guest House Anchorage.

Twice the key would not work then found out lock broken, then given another room, fine, until woken at 1.10am by someone entering the room. 1 min later we get a call from reception asking what we are doing in that room. NO apology at any time for this

Rooms smelled, no elevator had to carry bags up 2 flights, rooms not what was in picture on web at all I got a room with 2 single beds and one queen so no room to sit unless on bed. Would not use again.

Nice stay in Anchorage
Good price and comfortable bed. About 4 or 5 blocks from the center of town and Visitors Center. The free shuttle is a big plus but room rate does not include breakfast.

The girl at front desk was amazingly courteous and helpful. The last day of our stay in Anchorage was made more memorable because of her assistance. She was extremely helpful and cheerful. Loved her smiles!

You get what you paid for, even though I think it was still expensive for what it was. Some staff seems like you’re just bothering them if you ask questions others were polite and friendly. Also if you’re outside after dark just be careful of the homeless; there seems to be a lot in this area of town.

The front office staff was not paying attention
The coffee maker was so dirty as you can see from the pictures. The front desk clerk checkout us out even though we informed them that we have a voucher for another free day the following day. They said that we have to inform them regarding our free day prior to check which we did but unfortunately after a day tour and after going back to the hotel our keycard is not working anymore. After talking again to the front office clerk we are informed that they check us out and to make matter worse our thing they said was safekeep and the safekeeper will not be available til 6:00am the following morning. The good thing is before leaving, the housekeeper check the room and said to them that we are leaving the next day so to our relief our things was not move. The problem is the front office staff did not endorse our free day to the next staff. Imagine if our things was move even if they gave us another room we cannot get our things until the following morning.

Website showed to be pet friendly, when we arrived there was to be an exuberant fee for our dog to stay. There is no place to walk your dog. Upon arrival we will we were told there was a complementary breakfast, found out in the morning there is a café where you may purchase breakfast. Bed was uncomfortable. Parking was difficult, they have very few spaces. The location was good, within walking distance of many restaurants coffee shops, and other shopping places. However a rundown neighborhood.

Yes, there is a $10.00 per dog fee per night added to the room rate plus a $100 security deposit I recommend the downtown Parkstrip to play catch with your dog or the coastal trail for a great walk. I just reviewed hotels.com and found no listing of a complimentary breakfast. If you still have the information please share it with me in order that I may ask hotels.com to correct the false statement. Additionally, it looks as though you were not aware of our multiple parking lots. Please accept my apologies that this was not shared upon check in. I appreciate your time to help us improve our operation for our future guests and welcome the opportunity to serve you again.
