I didn’t feel comfortable with my stay here . Travelled with two young children , no proper support and not a great stay. I did a non refundable booking , else would not have stepped in . They made me pay additional charges for kids , and staff were impatient and not so polite

I really enjoyed our stay at the Mercury Amsterdam City Hotel. The hotel was convenient and the staff was very lovely and helpful to my family. The room was perfect for my family and very quiet.

It is very close to the metro with lines into Centraal and other popular areas. The hotel room was clean and well presented. I would highly recommend staying here

Great place to stay and explore
Staff were really helpful, as we needed to change rooms from twin to double and there was no fuss or problem, Hotel was very clean, room was great, only gripe was only one creamer per person in the room. Overall a great experience and would stay there again. Train station only 5 minutes short walk, Amsterdam city central was a 13 minute ride away, trains run every 8 minutes

The restaurant facility was something of a novelty for me. I found the entrance was roped off so and I had to take a circulators route around the bar, when I finally got into it I was bemused that the food was laid out but without any staff. I finally tracked down a waitress who explained that it was essentially a help yourself buffet which you ate in the bar area. Once I had this clear it worked really well for me as I detest sitting in a restaurant waiting to be served. The hotel does however need to explain the system to incoming guests.

A little bit further from Amsterdam center than realised but easily accessible via the metro. Hotel and staff were brilliant and lovely that hotel was quiet at night. Great facilities and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Kindly upgraded room for free due to birthday and also allowed us to check in slightly earlier than expected. Would recommend

Hotel is fine but the location is not for people with handicap. However, uber is available if one is not able to walk to the tram station (7 min. walk).

We were there 2 nights and I didn’t find the staff as friendly as all the other hotels we stayed at in The Netherlands. On the second night, we got back to the hotel after a long day out at 10:30 and found that our key didn’t work . When we went to the desk the girl (unfriendly) told us that she had blocked us out because we hadn’t paid our city tax of approx 28 euros. If they had told us this upon arrival, we would have paid it. Blocking us out of our room was completely uncalled for. I would not recommend this hotel or ever go there again.

Overall good but maybe some training is required
I booked this hotel as a present for my son and his girlfriend. First time for them in Amsterdam. Upon check in they were met with a man on reception that was rude and unhelpful. This is not what is expected on arrival to a hotel. It was not the first impression they wanted it deserved on arrival to this beautiful country. Thankfully they didn’t encounter him again. The rest of the team were helpful and courteous.

The hotel staff for the most part aren’t very well trained. The property is too far from centre so it is expensive to get around. Also it is cashless so must always pay by credit cards.

This property is perfect if you want to avoid being in the crowded center. With the metro station few minutes away, you could save quite a few euros. The only drawback is the lack of restaurants in the neighborhood.
