We stayed here as we were attending a concert at Ziggo Dome. What an excellent choice, not only did the hotel entrance lead in to the square where the venue doors were, but the hotel itself is superb. Fabulous rooms, service and staff who were so friendly and helpful. Nearest metro, Strandvliet, is less than a 10 minute walk, then 15 mins ride to central station. Perfect in everyway. Their scrambled eggs at breakfast are to die for !! Would highly recommend and would go back in a hearbeat.

Had & great stay at Jaz in the City. Staff were helpful & polite. Room was very clean & quiet (no outside noise). Train station is only a few mins walk away for easy access to Amsterdam Central. No negatives I can think of. Would definitely stay here again!

That was the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels. The staff was over-the-top friendly and helpful. The room had a digital dual-shower with an in-line heater that never runs out of hot water. The decor was very creative and sleek. It's a short walk from the train station close to everything. The room was absolutely quiet with perfectly-functioning A/C, no random buzzing noises in the night. When the train wasn't running, it was easy to book an Uber at 4am on a Monday. You couldn't ask for a better hotel.

A lovely surprise!
Spent a night at the Jaz as part of my Europa League travels. It is ideally situated for anyone visiting the Johann Cruyff Arena, and the staff could not have been more friendly. I arrived a couple of hours before check-in opened, but as my room was ready, they let me use it straight away. The room was spacious, comfortable and interestingly decorated - I especially liked the colour scheme in the bathroom! The restaurant was great for lunch, and the cost to stay at the Jaz was very reasonable for the quality provided. I would certainly use it again if visiting this part of Amsterdam.

The front staff were all excellent and helpful. The room however, was very disappointing. The blackout blinds were badly damaged and the separate room where the toilet was located was dirty. There were visible streaks on the walls of the bathroom overall a disappointment

The hotel is very close to the arena and station to central Amsterdam (15/20) in to Central. Ajax stadium is right next door. We’ll definitely use the hotel again.

We initially could not find the hotel as Apple Maps led us in a big detour that required us to walk on the highway without sidewalks which was very unsafe. I think signs when leaving the subway on where the hotel is located would be helpful as we met another couple who were directed in the wrong way. When checking in Expedia made an error and we were apparently not booked for a second room. This was upsetting and stressful as the room details were confirmed previously. Luckily staff told us there was a room available but had the hotel been booked we would've had to call Expedia for help.

If you don’t want to pay $$$ in the central Amsterdam stay here because this hotel is as convenient as those hotels located in the center if Amsterdam and you’ll have the most comfortable, quiet stay as possible. This jazz themed hotel is contemporary, modern and artsy. Friendly/flexible staff will welcome you with everything you’ll want and need. I absolutely lacked nothing during my 7-day stay. Easy check in and out.

Fabulous hotel!
The hotel is amazing. However, I called downstairs for an iron and was told they would bring one up. I waited for 45 minutes. I went downstairs and got it myself just to learn that there wasn’t one downstairs. The girl told me that each floor has an iron room. I roamed the halls religiously before I went back to my room and called back downstairs. This time I was told it was on the 10th floor. Once found the iron worked terribly but at least I got my steps in.

Excelent hotel!! Great shower, bed and space. Pillows too soft. Great staff and attitude. Room really gets too quiet and dark in the night, not even 1 light gets through.

I stayed at the property for one night to catch a flight the next morning. The hotel is overall good. It is close to the train station so you can connect through Centraal. The breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The only thing that I did not like about the room was that there was too much technology. Everything including the lights, phone, and TV is controlled by a tablet. Even the shower does not have any knobs, there are buttons that you have to press to start the shower and set the temperature. This may be a good thing for people who love Teslas, but for me, this was just too techy.

Great location, nice hotel.
Upsides: Lovely hotel, great location for Ajax or events at Ziggo Dome. ~15 minute metro ride into Amsterdam central. Nice burger at the Rhythm restaurant. Excellent quality breakfast with a decent selection. Downsides: Beds quite soft so not that supportive (likewise with pillows), very expensive bar (€13 for 500ml beer)!

We arrived early. There was an hourly charge to access the room. Problems with the hotel: television and phone did not work; no towels. Had to remind the hotel again to address problems. Bar open late; but no food.

While it looks nice at first glance and has modern touches like yoga mats, touch pad showers and cool speakers, it fails at the very basics- cleanliness and service. I stayed here because of its closeness to Johan Cruijff Arena. Since I was running late for a show I checked in, dropped my bags and ran out. When I came back after a long day, I went to get in the bed and noticed 3 spots of what appeared to be dried blood on the mattress topper. I then lifted the topper only to see a huge red stain underneath! It was the size of a dinner plate! Absolutely disgusting and there is no way that the person who made the bed didn’t notice it! If it weren’t so late I would have checked out immediately. I called the desk and had to request to be moved (at first they said they would just come up and “check it” until I insisted on moving). My second room appeared clean except but the refrigerator had so much crumbs and hair in the bottom I couldn’t even bring myself to drink the free water. I honestly think all the dark colours they use are hiding even more dirt. Other than lack of cleanliness there were no small washcloths (in both rooms), the mattress was worn and sank in the middle, and there were no irons or ironing boards in the room (myself and another guest had to iron in the gym at 6 am. Yoga mats but no irons - ridiculous!). Despite being aware of the issues the manager Miguel did absolutely nothing to compensate me and didn’t even apologize. I will not return.

Great stay, we were not going to any events at the arena or Ziggo dome but liked the idea of being outside the city for a change. The room was big — we didn’t spend much time in it, but it was great to not be bumping into each other trying to get dressed. The bed was huge/comfortable for the two of us, we slept great and didn’t hear any noise from the events happening at the venues nearby. Having a TV was a nice bonus at night when winding down. The Bijlmer ArenA station is very close by, which was very convenient for getting a tram downtown or taking an intercity. There were also lots of restaurants, none of which we tried, but the options are there which is great. There is a grocery store (Albert Heijn) right outside the train station as well, and that was very convenient. Overall, we are really glad we tried something different and had a more comfortable stay in a larger hotel, and going downtown was very easy so we didn’t miss out on any fun or sightseeing. Highly recommend, especially if you don’t mind taking the tram.
